Ted, Henry,
thank you very much, on behalf of the project team I must say it would be
our honor to have Hyunsik Choi as a mentor for Zeppelin.

Hyunsik, thank you for stepping up, we are excited to see you joining!

I think I saw the NOTICE that you are joining fly by a day or so ago. You
should consider yourself as good as a member of the IPMC at this point.

Also, I think that your experience with Tajo would be very useful to
Zeppelin. In particular, since Tajo's intent is similar to many of the
Hadoop eco-system components while it's pedigree is very different, I think
that your viewpoint may be importantly different from the viewpoints of
those (like me) who may be too closely attached to the standard Hadoop
 toolset.

Short answer: go ahead.

Long answer: There's no role requirement, so in theory literally
anyone could send an email to board@apache with the resolution text.
However, it helps if it's someone who's subscribed to board@apache
(and thus whose messages won't get stuck in moderation) and who has
sufficient privileges to commit changes to the board agenda in svn.
In practice, that means that resolutions tend to be submitted by
Mentors who are also ASF Members subscribed to board@apache.

Brooklyn

Brooklyn is a framework for modelling, monitoring, and managing
applications
through autonomic blueprints.

Brooklyn has been incubating since 2014-05-01.

Three most important issues to address in the move towards graduation:

  1. Completing our first release under Apache
  2. Grow the community
  3. More diversity of the committers/PPMC (currently biased towards
 employees of a single organization)

Any issues that the Incubator PMC (IPMC) or ASF Board wish/need to be
aware of?

  None.

How has the community developed since the last report?

  Our community continues to grow

Re: Graduation question

2014-12-15 Thread Alan Gates
I've added the resolution to the board agenda for Wednesday's meeting.
Thanks Marvin for the guidance.

Marvin Humphrey mailto:mar...@rectangular.com

Short answer: go ahead.

Long answer: There's no role requirement, so in theory literally
anyone could send an email to board@apache with the resolution text.
However, it helps if it's someone who's subscribed to board@apache
(and thus whose messages won't get stuck in moderation) and who has
sufficient privileges to commit changes to the board agenda in svn.
In practice, that means that resolutions tend to be submitted by
Mentors who are also ASF Members subscribed to board@apache.

As a Flink mentor can I submit the graduation resolution to the board
now that it has passed, or is that a job for Roman as IPMC chair?

I think I saw the NOTICE that you are joining fly by a day or so ago. You
should consider yourself as good as a member of the IPMC at this point.

Also, I think that your experience with Tajo would be very useful to
Zeppelin. In particular, since Tajo's intent is similar to many of the
Hadoop eco-system components while it's pedigree is very different, I think
that your viewpoint may be importantly different from the viewpoints of
those (like me) who may be too closely attached to the standard Hadoop
 toolset.
