Hi all,

following the discussion thread, I think we can start the vote on accepting

The ASF voting rules are described:

A vote for accepting a new Apache Incubator podling is a majority vote for which
only Incubator PMC member votes are binding.

This vote will run for at least 72 hours. Please VOTE as follows
[] +1 Accept Amaterasu into the Apache Incubator
[] +0 Abstain.

The proposal is listed below, but you can also access it on the wiki:

Note that we are looking for one more mentor on the proposal.
One concern has been raised about the "Amaterasu" name. We want to move forward
with Amaterasu name but open to change if needed.

2017-05-02 Thread Niclas Hedhman
As for the Gradle Jar; I gave the go ahead for this release, as I am
pursuing to make Gradle have a single Java file instead of a Jar file, as
this will take some time.

This is known and not of legal concern, and up for interpretation of
policy, which we both agree is not definitive.

Since there is a projected path away from this, I ask you to reconsider.

Cheers

All files located in the node_modules and external directories are
externally maintained libraries used by this software which have their
own licenses; we recommend you read them, as their terms may differ from
the terms above.

For the first section, it doesn't seem to reference any files. Why is it
present?

For the second, I can't find a "node_modules" directory.

In the samples/images directory you have a bunch of files named "bluemix"
which implies IBM Bluemix. How are these images licensed?

2017-05-02 Thread John D. Ament
Sorry but -1 due to binaries in the source release. I'm not sure if I
missed these the last go around or what, but they should not be included
(gradle-wrapper I know was called out before):

./apache-weex-incubating-0.12.0-src/android/playground/gradle/wrapper/gradle-wrapper.jar
./apache-weex-incubating-0.12.0-src/android/sdk/gradle/wrapper/gradle-wrapper.jar
./apache-weex-incubating-0.12.0-src/android/sdk/license/license-gradle-plugin-0.12.1.jar
./apache-weex-incubating-0.12.0-src/android/sdk/license/maven-license-plugin-1.10.b1.jar
./apache-weex-incubating-0.12.0-src/android/sdk/license/plexus-utils-3.0.24.jar
./apache-weex-incubating-0.12.0-src/android/weex_debug/gradle/wrapper/gradle-wrapper.jar
./apache-weex-incubating-0.12.0-src/android/weex_debug/libs/classes.jar
./apache-weex-incubating-0.12.0-src/scripts/apache-rat-0.12.jar

Other things checked:
- Has DISCLAIMER
- File name includes incubating
- NOTICE and LICENSE look right, especially like the name
POSSIBLE-NOTICES-FOR-BIN-DIST

I have no idea how to build from source, would be good to include that +
how to run rat in your instructions. If it weren't for the binary files I
would vote a +1.

[VOTE] Release of Apache Mnemonic-0.7.0-incubating [rc1]

2017-05-02 Thread Gang(Gary) Wang
Hello incubator PMCs,

The Apache Mnemonic community PPMCs and developers have voted and
approved the proposal to release Apache Mnemonic 0.7.0 (incubating).

Apache Mnemonic is an advanced hybrid memory storage oriented library,
it's proposed a non-volatile/durable Java object model and durable
computing model that bring several advantages to significantly improve
the performance of massive real-time data processing/analytic.
developers are able to use this library to design their cache-less and
SerDe-less high performance applications.

Generating contents for LICENSE, NOTICE for hawq incubating binary release

2017-05-02 Thread Ruilong Huo
Hi All,

We passed Apache HAWQ 2.2.0.0-incubating binary release PMC vote but failed
with IPMC vote
.
The major reason is that the binary rpm package is lack of LICENSE, NOTICE
files.

Please review below steps to generate contents for LICENSE and NOTICE and
let us know if it is the correct way or is there better ways to do that.
Thanks.

Step 1. Download apache hawq 2.2.0.0 incubating binary tarball:
https://dist.apache.org/repos/dist/dev/incubator/hawq/2.2.0.0-incubating.RC2/apache-hawq-rpm-2.2.0.0-incubating.tar.gz

Step 2. Extract the rpm package for components from the tarball, which
basically contains hawq core (written by c/c++/java), pxf and ranger
(written by java)

*[gpadmin@localhost Downloads]$ ls -alt hawq_rpm_packages*

*-rw-r--r--. 1 gpadmin gpadmin 84083656 Apr 10 10:41
apache-hawq-2.2.0.0-el7.x86_64.rpm*
*-rw-r--r--. 1 gpadmin gpadmin 8892442 Apr 10 10:41
apache-tomcat-7.0.62-el6.noarch.rpm*
*-rw-r--r--. 1 gpadmin gpadmin 55353540 Apr 10 10:41
hawq-ranger-plugin-2.2.0.0-1.el7.centos.noarch.rpm*
*-rw-r--r--. 1 gpadmin gpadmin 5668 Apr 10 10:41
pxf-3.2.1.0-1.el6.noarch.rpm*
*-rw-r--r--. 1 gpadmin gpadmin27034 Apr 10 10:41
pxf-hbase-3.2.1.0-1.el6.noarch.rpm*
*-rw-r--r--. 1 gpadmin gpadmin51142 Apr 10 10:41
pxf-hdfs-3.2.1.0-1.el6.noarch.rpm*
*-rw-r--r--. 1 gpadmin gpadmin68824 Apr 10 10:41
pxf-hive-3.2.1.0-1.el6.noarch.rpm*
*-rw-r--r--. 1 gpadmin gpadmin24724 Apr 10 10:41
pxf-jdbc-3.2.1.0-1.el6.noarch.rpm*
*-rw-r--r--. 1 gpadmin gpadmin18675 Apr 10 10:41
pxf-json-3.2.1.0-1.el6.noarch.rpm*
*-rw-r--r--. 1 gpadmin gpadmin 227890 Apr 10 10:41
pxf-service-3.2.1.0-1.el6.noarch.rpm*

Step 3. For the LICENSE of hawq core, pxf, and ranger binary, we add below
contents based on the LICENSE in hawq core source tarball

.

1) get the contents by extracting them from rpm. For example,
rpm2cpio hawq-ranger-plugin-2.2.0.0-1.el7.centos.noarch.rpm | cpio -div

*./hawq-ranger-plugin-2.2.0.0-1.el7.centos.noarch/usr/local/apache-hawq/ranger/lib/postgresql-9.1-901-1.jdbc4.jar*
*./hawq-ranger-plugin-2.2.0.0-1.el7.centos.noarch/usr/local/apache-hawq/ranger/lib/ranger-plugin-admin-2.2.0.0.jar*
*./hawq-ranger-plugin-2.2.0.0-1.el7.centos.noarch/usr/local/apache-hawq/ranger/plugin-service/lib/activation-1.1.jar*
*./hawq-ranger-plugin-2.2.0.0-1.el7.centos.noarch/usr/local/apache-hawq/ranger/plugin-service/lib/apacheds-i18n-2.0.0-M15.jar*
*./hawq-ranger-plugin-2.2.0.0-1.el7.centos.noarch/usr/local/apache-hawq/ranger/plugin-service/lib/apacheds-kerberos-codec-2.0.0-M15.jar*
*./hawq-ranger-plugin-2.2.0.0-1.el7.centos.noarch/usr/local/apache-hawq/ranger/plugin-service/lib/api-asn1-api-1.0.0-M20.jar*
*./hawq-ranger-plugin-2.2.0.0-1.el7.centos.noarch/usr/local/apache-hawq/ranger/plugin-service/lib/api-util-1.0.0-M20.jar*
*./hawq-ranger-plugin-2.2.0.0-1.el7.centos.noarch/usr/local/apache-hawq/ranger/plugin-service/lib/asm-3.1.jar*
*./hawq-ranger-plugin-2.2.0.0-1.el7.centos.noarch/usr/local/apache-hawq/ranger/plugin-service/lib/avro-1.7.4.jar*
*..*

2) check which license does each of the library jar use and add them to the
LICENSE file for binary release.

Is there any tools can that show which license does each of the jar file
use or we can only do that by searching on the internet? Thanks.
