I think Superset may also be graduating soon. BTW No need to ask me ask the
project. Just send them a email asking to help out as a mentor and if they
accept we’ll add you to the roster. I’m sure they will be happy to have an
extra mentor.

They should graduate soon. Given that and there’s lots of experienced people
involved in the project I don’t think they need that much help, but feel free

I am sorry I wasn't.
But I have been following "from distance" the incubator phase of a few
projects, like DistributeLog (now graduated as BookKeeper project),
Pulsar and NetBeans.

Maybe I can take a closer look to one of those project and check if I

Can we call out projects that might be at risk in some way (community
growth, list traffic, low change count)

It might help to bring attention to those needing help or should rather
retire.

HI,

Officially you need to be an IPMC member, if you are an ASF member you can ask
to join the IPMC, if you are not you would need to be voted onto the IPMC. I
can see you involved in a number of project, where you involved with bookkeeper
or zookeeper during incubation?

BTW There’s nothing stopping you from helping out a podling if you are not an
IPMC member, you just can't sign off reports.

Mentors wanted for projects

2020-02-19 Thread Justin Mclean
Hi,

It generally seen that the right amount of mentors for a podling is three.
Currently we have a few podlings that have less than that.

Podlings that currently only have one mentor:
SAMOA
Spot
Taverna**

Podlings that have two mentors:
Annotator
Daffodil
Hivemall
Marvin-AI
Milagro
Pony Mail*
S2Graph
SDAP
Superset*

Any existing mentor or IPMC members willing to help these projects out?

Thanks,
Justin

[RESULT] [VOTE] Retire Taverna from Apache Incubator

+1 Gale Naylor (binding)
+1 Sagar (binding)
+1 Stian Soiland-Reyes (binding)
+1 Stuart Owen (binding)
-1 Sube Singh
-1 Serban Mardaloescu

With 4 IPMC binding votes, and 2 objections,
the retirement vote for Taverna has passed.

Vote thread:

Thank you to all that voted.

I would like to give a large Thank You to Apache Software Foundation,
IPMC, mentors and volunteers for the patience of letting us have a go
at incubating. I think we have learnt a lot.

For retiring we can request moving the Taverna git repositories to
the GitHub organization where the
license remains Apache License 2.0, so development can continue at any
pace (or none).

Taverna PPMC folks and other interested; if you have not yet
received an invite, feel free to reply personally with your GitHub
username I can add you there as a "Caretaker".

After de-branding ("Apache Taverna" -> "Taverna") we can also try to
move the website and documentation to GitHub Pages, hopefully ASF will
afford us a HTTP redirect.

You can’t have a category X dependancy unless it’s optional. So GPL or LGPL
dependancies are in general not allowed. See [1]
