Agree with Romain. Let’s just take concrete actions: I would propose to talk
with logging PMC first (they can provide their preferences).

It’s really amazing how we can create endless thread for simple/concrete topics

Hi

I don’t think you need the incubator there. You can propose to log4j pmc to
move forward on log4j 1.x.
Anyone can propose new releases on any branches (including old ones).
If you need my support/help on this, please let me know.

Thanks.

My point is that it’s often better to avoid too much mentors. Because you can
have different messages and a mentor could think another one will step up ;)

I think 3 or 4 mentors is a good number. More could be tricky.

 I checked:
 - incubating in name
 - signatures and hashes are fine
 - DISCLAIMER exists
 - LICENSE and NOTICE fine
 - no expected binary files
 - All source files have ASF headers

I was looking the dependancies and noticed one with Category X GPL

Re: [DISCUSS] YunionCloud Proposal

2021-04-11 Thread JB Onofré
Hi

It sounds interesting. It’s a complete abstraction platform right ? I guess the
abstract is similar to jclouds (api/framework) as a platform, correct ?

Just curious. I would tend to be mentor, but I have limited experience with
golang :)

JB

Re: [VOTE] Release Apache Liminal (incubating) 0.0.1-INCUBATING

2021-01-24 Thread JB Onofré
I don’t consider as a blocker but just source archive should be on dist for
now.

It makes sense to have convenient binary archive but for liminal and Python not
sure it’s fully ready now.
