Yes, it is a java project which implements bRPC's protocol,
before, it is called brpc-java.
Thanks for Sheng Wu notifying me about this potential branding issue,
I discuss it with the maintainer of it,
he changes its name to starlight.

Thanks.

The composition of PPMC and Committer of bRPC community is very diverse, they
are from multiple companies, only 2 PPMC members are from the original
contributing company--Baidu, the other 8 PPMC members are from 7 different
companies, including bytedance, google, ant group,4paradigm, etc.

Re: [DISCUSS] Graduate Apache bRPC(incubating)

2022-11-08 Thread Willem Jiang
I checked the Independency section of the Maturity Assessment for
bRPC[1] with the website page[2].
It's hard to tell the contribution if the Affiliation is Apache.
Could you update the information about these PPMC members and committers?

[DISCUSS] Graduate Apache bRPC(incubating)

2022-11-06 Thread Jerry Tan
Hi, Dear IPMC members,

Apache bRPC has been incubating since 2018-11-13.

Within this time, the bRPC community has made great progress,

has adopted the Apache way and grown with the help of our mentors.

The bRPC community believes that we have met the conditions for graduation

and have discussed [1] and voted [2] for graduation with the result at [3].

So, we'd like to start the discussion and would appreciate any feedback
toward graduation!

We are happy to answer any questions - below are some facts and project
highlights from the incubation phase as well as the draft resolution.

This is also an excellent opportunity to say a big thank you to our mentors.

I really appreciated the prompt help at any time during incubation for the
many questions we had. Thanks a lot, Von, JB and PanJuan!

Cheers

Jerry Tan
