Re: [ROLL CALL] Roll Calls for projects missing reports

2022-10-26 Thread Justin Mclean
HI,

Livy is undergoing a reboot.

Marvin has no response and I asked on the dev list if the project should
continue in the Incubator.

Milagro has some activity but we did not get 3 PPMC responding to the roll call.

Spot has some activity but we did not get 3 PPMC responding to the roll call.

Teaclave has enough active PPMC members to continue.

Toree had some response, but doesn’t have enough PPMC members IMO to continue.
Sent email to their dev list to gauge interest in continuing.

Kind Regards,
Justin

Hi,

If a podling can’t get sign-off from their mentors (and this continually
happens) then they need to find and/or replace their existing mentors.

Yes I did see that, but it would still be nice if the project did submit a
report as they have missed multiple reports in a row. What was discussed on
list about the project would be good material for a report.

I don’t think there any point in signing a blank report.

Hi,
I'm not sure this is possible, in my opinion, Mentor takes on the
responsibility of giving feedback on the actual state of the community
from the IPMC perspective. this role is hard to replace.

Here's an idea:

In addition to mentor sign offs, add an additional checkbox for a PPMC
sign-off, but there must also be a link to a PPMC [VOTE] thread to
accept its own report and sign off on it.

This might make it possible for the PPMC to avoid a "missing report"
because of mentors' schedules which are beyond the PPMC's control,
while demonstrating that there is a functioning PPMC.

Podlings that failed to report and are currently expected next month are:
• Livy

• Teaclave
• Toree

No worries, we're all volunteers here.

With the reminder I just wanted to make sure that no reports are being
accidentally forgotten. It's fine if a report is delayed for a day or
two as we have a full week reserved for reviews. And it's also OK to
push a report forward a full month if the community is too busy with
other stuff right now. Reporting is just a tool, not our raison

Hi...

Having automated e-mails sent as reminders is a good thing and handy
too. But, IMHO, even with having this in hand mentors *should* be following
up with their mentored projects just in case something went wrong with the
automation scripts like what happened this time, also to follow up with the
reporting schedule and see if their mentored projects should report on a
specific month or not and whether the schedule is correct or not.

addition, it consists of a number of implementations of this API for the
most popular clouds.

Infrastructure:

   *

Hudson configured to trigger build after commit
 (https://hudson.apache.org/hudson/job/apache-deltacloud-core/)

Latest activity:

   * Deltacloud API was proclaimed as stable and version 0.1.0 was
 released
   * A new EC2 driver for Deltacloud API (in review process)
   * Client improved to be more stable
   * Deltacloud API is now Ruby 1.9 compatible

Current issues:

   * Support for buckets (streaming)

Santiago is right in that shindig-dev discussed what should go into this
report, and we actually came to consensus. Unfortunately, through a typo in
the URL, we reported on the March2008 page prior to the deadline... rather
than the March2009 page.

We've now updated the proper http://wiki.apache.org/incubator/March2009
 page.

Apologies for the confusion :-\
