Re: [ROLL CALL] Roll Calls for projects missing reports
HI, Livy is undergoing a reboot. Marvin has no response and I asked on the dev list if the project should continue in the Incubator. Milagro has some activity but we did not get 3 PPMC responding to the roll call. Spot has some activity but we did not get 3 PPMC responding to the roll call. Teaclave has enough active PPMC members to continue. Toree had some response, but doesn’t have enough PPMC members IMO to continue. Sent email to their dev list to gauge interest in continuing. Yes I did see that, but it would still be nice if the project did submit a report as they have missed multiple reports in a row. What was discussed on list about the project would be good material for a report. > I can sign the report, but it's an empty one for now. I will write a > report with action plan next month. Here's an idea: In addition to mentor sign offs, add an additional checkbox for a PPMC sign-off, but there must also be a link to a PPMC [VOTE] thread to accept its own report and sign off on it. This might make it possible for the PPMC to avoid a "missing report" because of mentors' schedules which are beyond the PPMC's control, while demonstrating that there is a functioning PPMC. Hi... Having automated e-mails sent as reminders is a good thing and handy too. But, IMHO, even with having this in hand mentors *should* be following up with their mentored projects just in case something went wrong with the automation scripts like what happened this time, also to follow up with the reporting schedule and see if their mentored projects should report on a specific month or not and whether the schedule is correct or not. Dormant projects to mothball? (was missing reports ...)
Of the currently missing reports: - Droids appears to have no activity since September. People asking questions are not getting answered. Perhaps the project should be mothballed. - HISE has some activity, although October was quiet. - Stonehenge appears to have been dead since July, when it made a milestone release, and is discussing being archived. There appears to be disappointment over the perceived disappearance of Microsoft and WSO2. - VCL appears to be active, with no reason for the lack of a report. - Wookie appears to be active, with no reason for the lack of a report. Other than VCL and Wookie, should all of them be mothballed? Unfortunately, through a typo in the URL, we reported on the March2008 page prior to the deadline... rather than the March2009 page. We've now updated the proper http://wiki.apache.org/incubator/March2009 page. Apologies for the confusion :-\ -Dan Mentors should please review these projects, and comment on what actions they feel are appropriate. I'm too busy, and have considered stepping down as mentor for a while. Can't speak for the other mentors, of which we have a number. Please update Composer status info (was: MISSING REPORTS: Composer,...)
Hi, Could the composer mentors update the project information to indicate its status (which == dead IIUC)? I'm thinking mostly of the http://incubator.apache.org/projects/composer.html page. -Bertrand On Tue, Jun 24, 2008 at 3:11 PM, Brett Porter [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I just took a look out of curiosity, and the last commit to composer [1] was to delete trunk, labeled marriage called off by Paul. I'd be very interested in seeing a report at least from BlueSky. JSecurity is just starting and there seems to be some life in WSRP4J, but Lokahi and XAP seem quite inactive. XAP has been almost entirely inactive for at least the last 4 months. I tried to kick off a discussion about its status by asking if it's dead, but even that didn't elicit much of a response. Not sure what happens now. +1 Perhaps we might start moving the discussion forward on list and see whether there's anyone left who cares. I wonder whether DoJo might have been a better home... RE: Missing reports: BlueSky, JSecurity, Lokahi, WSRP4J, XAP
Bill, I'd be very interested in seeing a report at least from BlueSky. I'll write something up. The Incubator PMC and the ASF Board would like a status report on Bluesky every month until further notice, and expect to see substantial movement towards resolving the issues. --- Noel - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
