Re: Call on Stein to resin
Because this forum is not Geronimo's forum. This is for Jakarta, a project at Apache specialising in some areas of server-side Java. Some parts of Jakarta could be being used in Geronimo. Re: Invitation to participate in Apache J2EE efforts
hi, i would like to participate. what shall i do? will you assign tasks to developeres or what is the Plan? -Mohammad Nabil Just Programming As you may have heard by now, the Apache Software Foundation has initiated a project to develop an open source, Apache-licensed implementation of the J2EE specification. In addition, the project is committed to certifying the implementation as J2EE compliant. This is an ambitious goal and will present a formidable challenge for the people involved, given the wide range of technologies covered by the specification. The project (tentatively named Apache Geronimo) builds upon the many Java projects at the Apache Software Foundation. In addition, the project is bringing together leading members of the Castor, JBoss, MX4J and OpenEJB communities. We would like to extend an open invitation to everyone involved in the J2EE space, both commercial entities and talented individuals, to join the community and build a world-class J2EE implementation. The Apache Software Foundation is in a unique position to build a J2EE compliant platform. Our non-profit, charity status, and our relationship with Sun Microsystems, provides the Foundation with access to the J2EE TCKs, making it possible to achieve certification. In addition, our flexible and unrestrictive licensing makes it possible for a wide variety of participants to assist in the development of Apache Geronimo, and to build their own solutions upon the platform. Apache Geronimo has been launched within the Apache Incubator. You can find more information about the Incubator at http://incubator.apache.org/. Re: Sun Is Losing Its Way
I think this thread has lost its way :-) Conor you are right! Because its more stable and runs faster under Linux than Star/OpenOffice? Sadly, MS Word under CrossOver Office is more stable on my Linux workstation at work than OpenOffice. Hopefully this will change. -Brian so ppl, why don't you report bugs so they can make it stable?!!! open source community is our own softwar and we need to enhance it rather than leaving it for something else. if one day you saw your kid in dangur you will help him, am i right?? or you will leave him and buy another kid from the stors?!! support Sun, Open Source, and all good manufacturar in our nice world :) -mohammad _ Add photos to your messages with MSN 8. Re: Developer wishes to donate project to Apache
Frank Cohen, author of TestMaker software (from www.pushtotest.com) would like to donate the software to Apache (Jakarta). TestMake is similar in purpose to Apache JMeter, but very different in execution. There are possibilities of sharing code between the two projects, and swapping capabilities. Frank would like to open a dialog with whomever is in charge of making any decisions regarding this. Whom should he contact? Greetings Mr.Frank Cohen, please if any one from the Apache community contacted you tell me, because i try also to make my project in Apache community but no one wants to contact me, just like they do with you now i don't know how these projects at Apache founded while we talk to Mechanical Mailing systems???! I hope one day they stop this weird system that discourage people who want to help in Apache community :( so if you found a Decision Maker in Apache tell me.
