By unmasking samba without running repoman on it, you triggered
dependency graph errors on ~hppa:

According to posts, the pre-git-history-graft is indeed more or less
ready. So we got that, yes.

I'm just perhaps a bit hyper-sensitized to what could be hints of
burnout, is all. I know from experience, just knowing a human safety net
is there is a big pressure relief on its own.

2015-09-08 Thread Dale
Top posting for consistency.

Just to be sure my first post was read the way it was intended, it was
meant as a joke but also to make sure whoever takes care of this was
aware it wasn't working the way it should. I was aware that the move to
git sort of messed up some things, bumps in the road if you will, but my
post was not meant to be a bad thing by any means.

As I have pointed out on other threads, git was a big move. The fact
that there is a few bumps/issues that have to be worked on isn't a
surprise to me or likely anyone else. So, my original post was meant to
point out that the script that does this isn't working and to get the
attention of whoever oversees it. In a sort of joking way. I think
folks that see my posts on -user would know how I am but I don't post on
-dev a lot.

By the way, glad y'all got things switched over. I know y'all been
working on getting this done for well . . . ages now. Even if there was
another year of waiting, there would still have been a few bumps/issues
to work out. Just keep up the good work and thanks for all you do. I
been bumping around Gentoo for over a decade now. It doesn't get any
better.

@Duncan M'lord, thou doth protest too much. Pretty sure rich0 already
has a tentative gentoo-x86-history that can be grafted, I don't have
the details to hand, but he posted it on -dev. Certainly I don't
believe there is a single-point-of-failure here.

@Robin - Ack on the air-mile gathering :) Didn't mean to harass you,
just was seeking some positive acknowledgement that you'd seen the
updated scripts.

Others may have concerns, but I'm simply grateful for what Gentoo devs do,
esp the demanding + critical work of migrating to Git.

I envy your travels & hope you had time
to appreciate Helsinki's trams, LA's LRT & Seattle's trolleybuses (smile).
