sys-apps/portage-2.1.4.5 should work with Python 2.5 and probably also 2.6.
sys-apps/portage-2.1.6.7 works with Python 2.5 and 2.6.
>=sys-apps/portage-2.1.6.13 works with Python 2.5 and 2.6 and doesn't work with

Any upgrade path was destroyed when all python versions (including 2.4) moved
to EAPI != 0.

Where's the CC and Reply-To to gentoo-dev? Does removing python 2.4 have
any effect on the upgrade path for old installations?
