[gentoo-dev] TESTREQUEST bugs.g.o upcoming upgrade

2005-11-16 Thread Jeffrey Forman
Users and Dev's Alike,

With the past release of bugzilla 2.20, it is once again time to upgrade
our bugzilla (http://bugs.gentoo.org) to the latest release. I have been
working on getting our test installation (http://bugstest.gentoo.org) up
to standards of our current bugzilla, implementing patches and other
customizations to it. Now I need the general population to login, test
it, and alert me of any show stopping issues.

To cut down on the barrage of email that filing, moving, and reassigning
bugs causes, I have SHUT OFF email on our test installation of bugs.
This is to alleviate all our inboxes from filling up with superfluous
emails that come from testing.

Be mindful that it is a TEST DATABASE and it will have NO EFFECT on our
production bugs.g.o installation. It is an old snapshot of our bugs.g.o
database from some months ago, so very new accounts will not be present.

I have setup a metabug http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99714 to
assist in my keeping track of issues related to the new install. Please
only post abnormalities to this bug. I will not be implementing any new
features at the current time.

Once I see a sufficient amount of success stories, I will announce
downtime procedures for bugzilla, at which time we can all take a drink
of our preferred beverage while I do the upgrade.

Thanks for all the support.

Cheers,
Jeffrey

I want to thank the astute dev jkt for alerting me to the fact that
HTTPS://BUGS.GENTOO.ORG is NOT the test installation. Bugstest is ONLY
available via standard http, NOT https.

Live install:
http://bugs.gentoo.org
https://bugs.gentoo.org

Test install (this is what I would like users/devs to test)
http://bugstest.gentoo.org

Sorry about any possible confusion that might have caused,
Jeffrey
