I don't always read every post of every thread. In the future, send
such requests to [EMAIL PROTECTED] to be sure I'll actually see it
before making up the GWN.

Thanks,

[gentoo-dev] gentoo-sources-2.4 needs a maintainer (a real one)

2007-01-10 Thread Daniel Drake

Hi,

A few weeks ago I posted that gentoo-sources-2.4 needs a maintainer.
antarus stepped up but realised his fatal mistake and has now fled from
the scene.

If anyone is interested please step up, otherwise this will go through
the usual mask/removal process. Recruiting a non-developer to take this
is an option, provided the usual requirements are met.

Maintaining a kernel is a big job, plus maintaining a 'dead' kernel tree
like 2.4 is even worse and is not really that interesting. A maintainer
needs to have interest and energy (which probably indicates a genuine
requirement to run 2.4), I'm not interested in seeing this
maintained-but-neglected.

Please mention this in the next GWN.

Thanks!
Daniel
