[gentoo-user] FAN-Speed readout/control ???
Hallo, I want to read the fan speed and want to control it with gentoo. My motherboard is a ASUS Crosshair IV Formula. lm_sensors does not report any relevant sensor. Does anyone got this working on this or an equivalent board with 890FX chipset? Thank you very much in advance for any help! Best regards mcc
[gentoo-user] Gigabyte and controlling fans
HI, I got everything installed on the new rig. Trying to sort out some "kinks" now. I notice that Gigabyte has software for windoze to control the fan speed and such. I use gkrellm to monitor them but was wondering if there is a Linux package that does the same. Is there such a thing? I looked using eix and friends but I don't see anything in the tree. I found the windoze version with google but nothing for Linux. It's a Gigabyte 770T series mobo. It uses the it8720 chip. Thanks. Dale :-) :-)

Here are the details : First, Google is great :) I read somewherethat the variable which allows to name the pgp signature is pgp_mime_signature_filename. However this variable is not in the standard mutt package. By googling a bit more I found the vk.pgp_verbose_mime patch (here: http://www.doorstop.net/projects ). I adapted it to my current version of mutt (~)1.5.21-r1 and I wrote an overlay. After patching, compiling and installing, it works perfectly. For those who are interested in this patch, look at the attached files (patch-1.5.21-r1.vk.pgp_verbose_mime and mutt-1.5.21-r1.ebuild.patch). Then, just add these two lines in your .muttrc file : set pgp_mime_signature_filename="signature.asc" set pgp_mime_signature_description="Digital signature" It would be great if this patch were added to the gentoo-patches when gpg flag is enabled for mutt. Create a new user account and check how Firefox looks in that account. 2. I ask because I have tried two > scripts and I don't know what all has been changed and what state things > are in. To flush your iptable rules you can run: /sbin/iptables -F -F, --flush [chain] Flush the selected chain (all the chains in the table if none is given). This is equivalent to deleting all the rules one by one. If you only want to flush one chain (e.g. OUTPUT) then run: /sbin/iptables -F OUTPUT Running /sbin/iptables -L -v -n before and after will show you what rules are there and what are deleted. Iptables scripts usually run --flush to clear out any previous rules before they add their own. You can edit any such script to add the MASQUERADE target I suggested previously in the POSTROUTING chain (following the syntax of the particular script). > I also noticed this. The fact that it is trying to use eth0 may be related to the ethX number? i.e. it starts from the lowest number and it works it's way up. You can delete your net udev rules and reboot to change these (or manually edit your udev rules). Either way, adapt my previous instructions for your respective NIC numbers. > The modem I have is a Motorola Netopia 2210-02. I took that info from > the home page of the modem. It looks like a well spec'ed single port modem and ADSL router. Since it is running a DNS repeater you can set in your /etc/resolv.conf files the IP of your router as the DNS server - if it doesn't pick it up on its own. -- Regards, Mick signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part.
