[gentoo-user] SSH Hangs on
List, I connect to my server with jEdit over SFTP using key pairs. It works perfectly except that it makes many connections to the server and they don't die when I close jEdit. After a session of developing my server will have 100s of ssh/sftp-subsystem process left over. They will stay there forever too. I've changed settings on the sshd to kill inactive sessions quickly and that works (if I ssh from a machine and do nothing for 30m it dies) but the sftp sessions will not gracefully quit. I have to ssh in and say something like: kill `ps aux |grep 'sshd: [EMAIL PROTECTED]' |awk '{ print $2 }'` to clean them up. Ideas? /djb -- gentoo-user@gentoo.org mailing list
[gentoo-user] Dell 1850/Dell Partition
List, Is at /dev/sda1. Does anyone know if I need this? Where will I put /boot? At /dev/sda2? Will GRUB work OK? I'm way nervous about blasting this thing away and replacing Dell's 65M partition with my /boot and stuffs. Help. /djb -- gentoo-user@gentoo.org mailing list
[gentoo-user] Samba/Names/XPPro
List, I'm using Samba to share with Windows and am using the %m macro as the share name so that each Windows computer sees only one share with it's name to use. This works great for almost every machine on my network: other Sambas, Win2K, Win2K3, WinXP home but not this one XPPro. I've tried tweaking the lmhosts file and waiting for Netbios to share the names but this hasn't worked, any ideas? /djb -- gentoo-user@gentoo.org mailing list
