Try emerging the netscape-flash in portage. It works for me.

[gentoo-user] Weird PRB: X cannot start on the first boot

If the computer boots from a cold machine, it will not start X. If I do
a top command, I can see X is consuming close to 100% CPU utilization.

Since I enable gdm at startup, I don't have X running at all with my
keyboard locked down. I have to reset the power and then the computer
will start normally.

Can anyone help troubleshoot the problem? I am now connecting to the box
via SSH to collect any information needed for troubleshooting.

I guess Alon subscribed to the gentoo-user list as a "nomail"
subscriber and read the messages via some news-mail gateway, such as
GMane. 

According to http://www.gentoo.org/main/en/lists.xml, one can subscribe
to the "nomail" option of each list:
