Of course emerging vmware-modules is for Gentoo host only. Guests using other operating systems are fine once you've emerge'd the host modules.

The build sets up some symlinks that building other, third-party modules need. I also have a modified rc script for the tools, that works with openrc. Let me know if you want it.
