I suspect something like will be the reality.

Indeed, the recent farting-about with URLs, etc, seems to me a potential
symptom of deckchair being moved by someone focussed on "Zounds!" who
breaks established iPlayer behaviour without knowing. So the result may be
disruption or annoyance for iPlayer users.

I'll see if I can find out something more reliable, unless someone else
here already has a *reliable* source - i.e. not the DM.

TBH I realised *many* years ago that anything in the DM would be distorted
to suit their own adjenda. About the only 'fact' in it that I'd get
half-way to believing is the cover date! All else will be spun,
cherry-picked, taken out of context, or invented.

[1] Even better if you want to know what's happening in 'politics, events,
economics, news, and at the BBC', read PE.  :-)
