Re: [Gimp-developer] creating a mac dmg for 2.99

The process is explained in the gimp-macos-build repository. Current maintainers for the macOS build are Oleksii Samorukov (who created the process but lacks time lately) and more recently Des McGuinness. So I would suggest to first have a look at the scripts. Then you are welcome to propose some patches to work on a build for the dev version too, which would indeed be very nice. I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think that Des has had the time to look into it as he focused on getting the stable version up to speed first. Anyway more devs the merrier. Something which can be done is to set up a branch for you and we will let you merge test commits on this branch for you to get acquainted with the build system and have automatic CI builds (while not merging tests into the main branch). If you are interested, please tell me (on a report or on IRC for instance). For Arabic in particular, here are the contact information: https://l10n.gnome.org/teams/ar/ Have a good morning/day/evening, and hoping to see your new translations soon! Perhaps a too aggressive compression of the package? Very aggressive compression, and GIMP's install size is almost twice as large as that of LibreOffice. Probably the biggest reason for slow install is because both 32 and 64-bit versions are in the same installer, and when doing a 64-bit install, a lot of 32-bit version is also installed; I've been meaning to look into optimizing this, but haven't gotten around to do it yet. -- < Jernej Simončič ><><><><>< https://eternallybored.org/ > Trust only those who stand to lose as much as you when things go wrong. -- Chase's Rule For Success ___ gimp-developer-list mailing list List address:gimp-developer-list@gnome.org List membership: https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gimp-developer-list List archives: https://mail.gnome.org/archives/gimp-developer-list
[Gimp-developer] gimp on Windows slow to install
Hi devs, just a heads-up ... I noticed that GIMP is, by far, the slowest app to install on Windows. _Much_ slower than, for instance, LibreOffice that is about 1/3 bigger. Why is it so? Perhaps a too aggressive compression of the package? -- Saluton, Marco Ciampa ___ gimp-developer-list mailing list List address:gimp-developer-list@gnome.org List membership: https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gimp-developer-list List archives: https://mail.gnome.org/archives/gimp-developer-list
