[Gimp-user] Print plugin not loaded

2002-02-24 Thread Andre Truter

Hi All,

I have gimp 1.2.2 installed with the gimp-print 4.2.0 plug-in installed.
I checked and the file 'print' is located in /usr/lib/gimp/1.2/plug-in,
but when I start The GIMP, there is not print option in any of the
menu's. When I browse the plug-ins, there is also no print listed.

I have used the gimp-print plug-in before, but it was an older version
of GIMP.

Anybody know why the plugin is not detected?

Thanks

Not any help, but I had the same problem, posted the same question, no
solutions. I went back to 1.2.1, where I'm still at now. If you get a
solution, I'd appreciate it if you'd share it.

 Thanks

I didn't have to buy my radio from a specific company to listen
to FM, why doesn't that apply to the Internet (anymore...)?

Is it the right directory?

May be try the command :
gimp-config --gimpplugindir
to check this.

Hi Andre -

You said you were browsing the plug-ins, so ...

Have you checked Image/File/Print ...

Also - you may want to look in /usr/lib/gimp/1.2/plug-ins

^

Not sure this is going to be any help -

In the preferences od The GIMP, /usr/lib/gimp/1.2/plug-in is listed as
one of the plug-in directories.

The output of gimp-config --gimpplugindir is:
/usr/lib/gimp/1.2/

Should I change this? How do I change this?

Thanks

Hi Jeff,

I tried to print an image and there was no print option under any of the
menu's.

I did look in /usr/lib/gimp/1.2/plug-ins and the 'print' plug-in is
there. I ever installed gimp-print again and I checked that it installs
the plug-in in that directory.

2002-02-24 Thread Rebecca J. Walter

It seems that the first thing to do is to upgrade to 1.2.3. It may be
that something is broken in 1.2.2, but 1.2.3 is out now. If an upgrade
to 1.2.3 doesn't fix it, please post to this list again and post a bug
to bugzilla.

1.2.3 is available at ftp://ftp.gimp.org/pub/gimp/v1.2/v1.2.3/ and
should be a pretty easy install.

If you have problems compiling, feel free to come to irc.gimp.org #gimp
and ask for help. carol is working on a howto so can use info on any
problems people encounter.
