[Gimp-user] Invalid class name error

2002-04-18 Thread Jason Pearce

Hi gimpers ,
I get this error when using some filters in the gimp 1.2
glowing_steel: invalid class name 'Gimp::UI::Gradientselect' at (evel2)
line272 (ERROR)
this one was from trying to use the brushed steel filter.
How can i fix this or is it just how it is ?
happy gimping

I tried downloading and installing it in my plugins directory
(copied to ~/.gimp-1.2/plug-ins and chmod 755) -- it does get run
on startup (gimp --verbose mentions it) but it doesn't register
itself properly. It runs from the command line.

But I'm not sure my other perl plugins are registering either -- I seem
to have lots of perl files in /usr/local/lib/gimp but none of them
actually show up in the menus where they try to register themselves),
and gimp --verbose doesn't give me any hints about why this might be; it
rewrites my .pluginrc and for most perl plugins I've checked, the slot
where the menu location shows up just gets written as regardless of
what the plugin wants. There's nothing in the perl error/warning log in
ToolboxXtns/Perl/Control Conter except Fatal Message (no further
information). Gimp experts: what might I be missing here?

Jason: It looks like tif2xcf assumes you've already run PTStitcher.
Did you actually get it to run? I didn't have much luck with that either
(looks like it'll take a lot of moving files around to get it to find
all the files it needs, not to mention finding a jdk that it likes).

The other package on that page you listed, panotools-gimp, did install
for me and shows up in the gimp menus, but I haven't figured out the
magic incantation to make it actually create a panorama; all I've
managed to get it to do is apply lens distortion filters.

[Gimp-user] tif2xcf

2002-04-10 Thread Jason Pearce

Hi gimpers,
I found this plugin on the web
tif2xcf
http://www.vierpi.de/panotools-gimp.html
and i am having trouble installing it i have had a go at the instructions
given on the website

Installation
Download tif2xcf and copy it to your plugins directory with

gimp-config --install-bin tif2xcf

or to your system plugin directory with

gimp-config --install-admin-bin tif2xcf

and restart gimp.

Note: If the perl binary is not in /usr/bin, then change the first line of
tif2xcf to your path.
You need gimp-perl. Check if you have the appropiate modules by calling
tif2xcf in the shell. If a new window comes up then you have all you need.

I am running a stock MDK8.0 system and perl is in /usr/bin
but i haven't the foggiest where to run these comands.
any help would be appreciated.
cheers

[Gimp-user] Panotools???

2001-11-16 Thread Jason Pearce

Hi gimpers,
Does anyone out there have the panotools Gimp plugins and docs???
I have been using Panotools under windoze for some time ,now I'm
trying to leave windows behind and this is about the only thing
that is really slowing me down. The panotools website has been
changed and the linux version has been removed for upgrades
because of IPOX patents.
if anyonr could send the files to me i would be forever in your debt.
