Re: [Gimp-user] Can gimp run on external hard drive?
From: Sarah Lee [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [Gimp-user] Can gimp run on external hard drive? Date: Mon, 01 Sep 2008 14:34:42 -0700 (PDT) So that's my question in a nutshell. I will be getting a new external hard drive later this week. My father and some friends told me that some programs can run off of an external hard drive so that you can use the same program on multiple computers without having to install the program on all computers. Does anyone know if this is possible with gimp or does it use too many resources and memory? The hard drive will be 250 gb if that makes a difference. Thanks Sarah Lee What operating system are you running? Is it the same on all computers? It's probably possible with any operating system, but the howto is different for each one. ___ Gimp-user mailing list Gimp-user@lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU https://lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user
Re: [Gimp-user] Inaccurate Font Color After Export (psd - gif)
From: ehchn1 [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [Gimp-user] Inaccurate Font Color After Export (psd - gif) Date: Mon, 12 Mar 2007 01:00:37 -0700 (PDT) Hi, I have a psd image button created with GIMP. It has blue background and white font (R=255, G=255, B=255) However, I need it in GIF. After doing an export to GIF, the font color is a bit different from the original. It's now (R=247, G=253, B=255). Is there anyway that I can preserve the original font color? Please advise. Thanks. Probably not. GIF recognizes only 256 colors in total. Some change is to be expected. ___ Gimp-user mailing list Gimp-user@lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU https://lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user
Re: [Gimp-user] delete a file
From: Helen [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [Gimp-user] delete a file Date: Sat, 06 Jan 2007 18:53:20 -0500 Hi, Is there a way to delete or rename a file in Gimp? I know I can save with a different name, but then I have two copies. If not, is this an oversight? Will it be corrected? Thanks, Helen, using Gimp 2.2.10 on SuSE 10.2 Gimp does not provide this facility. (For that matter, neither does Adobe Photoshop or most office programs.) Use whatever file management methods your OS provides to delete unneeded files. ___ Gimp-user mailing list Gimp-user@lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU https://lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user
