Use ImageMagick better.

Hi,
I'm a linux user and I'm starting to use GIMP. I want to know if I can use
GIMP to convert jpeg images to 16 colors gif format, from the prompt, using
something like :
> gimp -colors 16 image.jpg  image.gif
