[Gimp-user] Script for perspective to square
>Hi, > >Thanks for the tip. >However, I think I applied precisely all the steps but I don't obtain >the result I expected (see screenshots attached). Do you know what >could be wrong ? I think the **active selection** is to blame. Keep the paths to 4 nodes / 3 sides Draw by hand, not selection to path. If you need to use a selection to define the second path, you can use Image -> Guides -> New Guides from selection, kill selection and use the guides as a reference. Looking at your images, it looks to me that: You have a frame placed on the ground. Photograph taken In Gimp you want: the frame adjusted and scaled to a smaller 'square'. A made-up image of about the same size as the example. The end result is not pretty. Screenshot 1 shows the paths and the ob_align.py dialogue. Screenshot 2 shows the result. rich: www.gimp-forum.net Attachments: * http://www.gimpusers.com/system/attachments/678/original/01.jpg * http://www.gimpusers.com/system/attachments/679/original/02.jpg -- rich2005 (via www.gimpusers.com/forums) ___ gimp-user-list mailing list List address:gimp-user-list@gnome.org List membership: https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user-list List archives: https://mail.gnome.org/archives/gimp-user-list

[Gimp-user] Request for script - Guillotine + Watermark
Hi everyone, I perform a very repetitive task which I would like to automate. I have a lot of PDF files, that I need to cut in pieces, watermark them (based on name of source file) and then save them back as PDF. For example This is the source file called Sample.PDF (attached) I insert 2 horizontal guides to divide the file in three areas (the guides are always horizontal). They location and number of the guides varies from file to file. Then I use the Guillotine tool to split the file in 3 files. Each of these files have to be watermarked at the bottom as Sample_00, Sample_01, Sample_02 and saved as Sample_00.pdf, Sample_01.pdf and Sample_02.pdf respectively (all attached). I am not fussed about the naming format as long as it starts with the name of the source file and ends with a sequence number. I have been trying to automate the following steps 1. Run Guillotine 2. Add watermark (format eg Sample_nn) near the middle bottom of the page generated by guillotine 3. Save files as Sample_nn.pdf in the same directory as the source file. I am afraid I don't enough Python-Fu to be able to do it. Could any one of you assist please? Much appreciate your help ! Operation system: Windows 10, picture format is JPG-fine. Don't need or want NEF format as 300 pictures too many to edit and I have not found a batch edit process that will take all edits from one picture and apply to the others. Reason for exporting as .gif - I do not know better, a newbie in creating time lapse videos from still pictures. I also am guessing that the use of Layer - Stack - reverse layer order is to be done right after "Opening as Layers" - all layers will be recognized by the command. Again thanks for the response, I really appreciate it as I want to use GIMP for this process. One other question: To replace .gif you mentioned looping - I do not care about looping - actually want it to play just once and then stop. What are your suggestions for other video formats and applications for producing a video timelapse? >Forgot to mention: Gimp 2.8 You also missed out operating system, assuming a version of Windows. Judging by conversion times stated (and Nikon) these are big individual frames? Gif format was really meant for an earlier smaller size era. The immediate issue with frame order is easily solved in Gimp. Use Layer -> Stack -> Reverse Layer Order. Then it becomes a matter of work flow. Keep in RGB mode for as long as possible. A Gimp gif has the same 256 colour palette for all layers. Exporting to gif automatically converts to indexed mode. I think it is better to export the gif, then reopen in Gimp then optimise, export again. Up to you. Is the reason for using gif the ability to loop? Otherwise a video format will give better results. I am having trouble creating a good time lapse video from still pictures. I have taken 300 pictures via the interval timer mode in the Nikon D5500 camera. There are two problems, 1 quality is not as good as I think it should be. Not my main issue. Main issue is the time lapse video plays in a reverse sequence.
