Re: [Gimp-user] Combining Images
Nice video rich404. I think I misunderstood when I said save it as a png. I was thinking he was cutting out the logo and saving it alone which might explain a white background after cutting it out if saving as a jpg. It should save fine as a jpg since he is putting the logo on a solid background. (my bad) I think your video explains everything great! I for one appreciate the time you take to help everyone with usage issues. I learn new tips all the time from following this list. Keep up the great work! My setup indicates switching to another tool then back to the 'rotate tool' restores the on canvas widget. Are you sure you added a alpha layer to the logo right at the start? All sorts of ways to get a result. Open the logo select the white background. Invert the selection, shrink the selection, copy the selection. Open the background image, paste in the logo, move to position. Make the floating selected layer a new layer. Adjust transparency if required. -- rich404 (via www.gimpusers.com/forums) ___ gimp-user-list mailing list List address:gimp-user-list@gnome.org List membership: https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user-list List archives: https://mail.gnome.org/archives/gimp-user-list
[Gimp-user] Transform tools in 2.10: independent window back to on-canvas dialog
In the 2.10 transform tools show an on-canvas window (a bit like the text tool in 2.8). This window can be made an independent window by clicking on the up-arrow icon. So, is there a maneuver to make that independent window become an on-canvas widget again, without either 1) restoring to factory settings, or 2) editing the "sessionrc" file?
