Re: [Gimp-user] Brush sizes in GIMP
my suggestion would be to rename or delete the current installation's Gimp folder in home/library/application support/gimp/2.8, then shut down and restart (cold boot) your computer and reinstall gimp. shut down and cold boot your computer and start gimp. when the splash screen pops up, you will be able to either read the components being started or see gibberish again. hth, dwain On Sat, Jan 5, 2019 at 7:03 PM Steve Kinney wrote: > > > On 12/15/18 10:11 AM, stricklyprs...@look.ca wrote: > > I can no longer change brush sizes in Gimp 2.8 > > > > I downloaded Gimp 2.10 and still cannot change brush sizes. > > > > 2.8 the tool box would show up with all the settings for the brushes > which > > were in white. Re: [Gimp-user] Special Characters In Text
tom, your best tool would be scribus 1.4.7. scribus is a page layout program that functions similarly to adobe in design and pagemaker and quarkxpress. you can import libreoffice or msoffice documents (maybe with a "file/save as ., can't recall. haven't needed it in a while). the wordprocessing engine in scribus is a typesetter. scribus interprets vector and raster images in their native format. it uses the layers concept. you can import most common image formats (tif, jpg, etc) as well as svg (inkscape, etc.) and ai (adobe illustrator) clipart. there is a mailing list community of users and developers to help solve just about any problem or situation with the program, and sometimes your hardware. once you finalize your document, you can then directly export it to a pdf for distribution or archiving. hth dwain On Fri, Jan 4, 2019 at 8:21 PM TomGeorge wrote: > >You might have just caught a Gimp 2.6 with Debian 6 (EOL 2016), but > >that image has the blocks of text flattened to a bitmap - not really > >editable. Re: [Gimp-user] Monoprice and Tablets in General
maybe the unspoken answer could be, "reinstall 2.8"? Re: [Gimp-user] Plug-in again
there is a windows collection but can't verify if it contains any malware, viruses or root kits. I had a copy when the site was up and running, but there are copies in the wild now that claim to be the "collection" and this is where my verification process falters. i make no accusations or proclamations regarding the safety of the current offerings. the gimp registry began offering extensions with "bugs". they powers that were at the time made the decision to close the registry until a better distribution system was developed. hth dwain On Wed, Dec 12, 2018 at 5:14 AM rich404 wrote: > >Sorry if this has been asked before. > > > >I'm an ex photoshopper, new to GIMP.
