[Gimp-user] Factory settings/reset to defaults

I actually uninstalled the program, went in program  files and deleted that
whole folder - is there some other place that GIMP saves settings to?

That should have read Users\user name\.gimp-2.8 (but I put less than and greater
than signs around user name and this text didn't appear in the post)

c:\users\\
  look of any directory with a name containing "gimp" (remove quotes).
