"interleave-layers" is now "ofn-interleave-layers" and works with 2.8 and 2.10 (and supports the 2.10 blend modes). Download the ZIP from http://sourceforge.net/projects/gimp-tools/files/scripts/ See instructions at bottom of page for installation. The ZIP contains a HTML documentation. It never did - it's a third-party add-on - http://gimp-tools.sourceforge.net/animationtools.shtml It won't be there unless you put it there. However, your partner should consider moving to gimp 2.10.30 if possible. GIMP 2.8 is rather old now. She has a new laptop so I went to the Gimp download site and I downloaded and installed version 2.8.22 and found that in the Images menu it does not include Interleave Layers.
