[Gimp-user] integrity of distorted images

Hi Gimp Folk,

Just started to explore gimp. Have an application for distortion 
effects, but need to know the following. If I create a square (jpeg) 
that is exactly 50% black and 50% white and then distort the image 
using, for example 'i warp' or 'whirl  pinch', will the colour 
proportions of the resultant image still be exactly 50/50?


Hoping some tech minded person can confirm and explain this ??

Why don't you try yourself? Use the Histogram dialog to check the result 
(I'm pretty sure the ratio is not kept)?
