[Gimp-user] integrity of distorted images
Hi Gimp Folk, Just started to explore gimp. Have an application for distortion effects, but need to know the following. If I create a square (jpeg) that is exactly 50% black and 50% white and then distort the image using, for example 'i warp' or 'whirl pinch', will the colour proportions of the resultant image still be exactly 50/50? Hoping some tech minded person can confirm and explain this ?? -- Best regards Kev Hartley 0401 206 342 No voice mail - if unanswered please call again or text. ___ gimp-user-list mailing list List address:gimp-user-list@gnome.org List membership: https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user-list

Use the Histogram dialog to check the result (I'm pretty sure the ratio is not kept)? ___ gimp-user-list mailing list List address:gimp-user-list@gnome.org List membership: https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user-list
Re: [Gimp-user] (no subject)

How this is done depends a lot on the picture. Experienced photographers take the picture for that purpose, in a light tent or against a illuminated/overblown white background, which can be kept (it will be pure white) or is very easy to remove (in some cases they use a completely black background instead). Typically removing a random background against a random subject isn't very easy and is rather time consuming. In Gimp you can use the Foreground selector (that works very well in some cases) or the intelligent scissors. Work on the original size (scale down for you web site after removing the background). ___ gimp-user-list mailing list List address:gimp-user-list@gnome.org List membership: https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user-list
[Gimp-user] GIMP being sold.
I've enjoyed using GIMP for some time but came across this today. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Photo-Image-Editing-for-Adobe-Photoshop-CS-6-7-8-10-11-Elements-Full-Retail-user-/141063615708?hash=item20d80bf4dc My understanding is that GIMP is free but if you look closely at the interface it looks just like GIMP. Hopefully this ends up with someone concerned with development as I couldn't find a specific addy for this situation (If there is one) Regards Glenn. ___ gimp-user-list mailing list List address:gimp-user-list@gnome.org List membership: https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user-list
