[Gimp-user] Fuzzy Select

2017-06-17 Thread George Weitz
Hi there,

I get this issue with fuzzy select, and actually with any selection tool:

As soon as the section is make the image is blacked out or inversed to mono
black and white.

I screen captured the issue here:

Gimp did not display this behaviour initially and it seemingly started
without reason. I have re-installed it but that didn't fix anything.

Any clues to fix this issue would be welcome!

Thanks in advance,

George

[Gimp-user] Gimp opens with locked channel

2017-06-17 Thread Michael234
Hi,
I am new to Gimp and I seem to have encountered a problem. When I open Gimp
there is a locked channel showing & I can not find a way to delete it.

Thanks

Michael

[Gimp-user] finding and replacing all variants of one colour

2017-06-17 Thread pbw
Virtual external house painters allow you to paint an image from a set of colour
swatches. The best ones that I have seen seem to be able to replace the colour
while keeping the details and the variations in image colour due to differences
of light and shade.

I would like to be able to do something similar in Gimp. Starting from a base
colour point, select estimate colour variations based in differences in incident
light, and collect select this set of colours. Then replace those colours with
a new base colour, applying the same incident light variations to the new
colour.

Do you have any suggestions for a basis in existing tools for achieving this?
