What is mousetweaks ?
=

The Mousetweaks package provides mouse accessibility enhancements for
the GNOME desktop. The enhancements are:

1. It offers a way to perform the various clicks without using any
hardware button. (hover click)

2. It allows users to perform a secondary click by keeping the primary
mousebutton pressed for a determined amount of time. (simulated
secondary click)

3. For desktops using the gnome-panel, it provides two panel applets that
the user can install on the gnome-panels.
- The first applet provides an alternative way to control the hover click.
- The second applet creates an area on the panel into which the pointer
  can be captured until the user releases it with a predefined button
  and modifier combination.

The hover click and the simulated secondary click can be accessed through
the Universal Access control panel in the GNOME Control Center. The applets
however can only be accessed on the gnome-panel.

Gee [ANNOUNCE] Libgee 0.7.1 - GObject collection library

2011-09-27 Thread Maciej Marcin Piechotka
We are very pleased to announce version 0.7.1 of Libgee, the GObject
collection library.

Libgee 0.7.1 is now available for download at:
http://download.gnome.org/sources/libgee/0.7/

Also please note that now Libgee has its own mailing-list
http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/libgee-list
and its own #gee IRC channel.

New in 0.7.1

  * API changes
* Split List into BidirList and List
* Split ListIterator into BidirListIterator and ListIterator

  * New implementations
* ConcurrentLinkedList provides lock-free single linked list

  * Infrastructure
* Require up-to-date NEWS file on make distcheck

Libgee is a collection library providing GObject-based interfaces and
classes for commonly used data structures.

Libgee provides the following interfaces:

 * Traversable
   o Iterable
 + Collection
   # List
 * BidirList
   # Set
 * SortedSet
   # MultiSet
   # Queue
 * Deque
 + Map
   # SortedMap
   o Iterator
 + BidirIterator
   # BidirListIterator
 + ListIterator
   # BidirListIterator
 * MultiMap

The ArrayList, ConcurrentLinkedList HashSet, HashMap, HashMultiSet,
HashMultiMap, LinkedList, PriorityQueue, TreeSet, TreeMap,
TreeMultiSet, and TreeMultiMap classes provide a reasonable sample
implementation of those interfaces. In addition, a set of abstract
classes are provided to ease the implementation of new collections.

Around that, the API provide means to retrieve read-only views,
efficient sort algorithms, simple, bi-directional or index-based mutable
iterators depending on the collection type.

Libgee is written in Vala and can be used like any GObject-based C
library. It's planned to provide bindings for further languages.

More information about Vala is available at

Emperor 0.1 - Orthodox file manager for the GNOME desktop

2011-09-27 Thread Thomas Jollans
I am pleased to announce the first released version of Emperor: version
0.1 Aurelian

Web site: http://code.jollybox.de/emperor.xhtml

Download: http://code.jollybox.de/pub/emperor/emperor-0.1.tar.xz

Git: https://github.com/tjol/emperor

Emperor is a new Commander-style file manager for the GNOME desktop. It
is writte in Vala and, unlike similar programs such as GNOME Commander
or mc, it uses GIO in order to integrate with the GNOME desktop and to
take advantage of GVfs-FUSE.

While it is not yet full-featured, it is complete enough to be useful
and has good support for network file systems and automatic mounting of
archive files.

Emperor strives to provide a user interface familiar to users of Total
Commander, Krusader, or GNOME Commander.

Dependencies:

- GTK+ 3
- Libxml2
- Libgee 0.7

Additional dependencies when building the source from Git:

- Vala 0.12
- GNU Autoconf, Automake, Libtool, and Gettext
- Python 3.x

What is Rygel?

Rygel is a home media solution that allows you to easily share audio, video and
pictures, and control of media player on your home network. In technical terms
it is both a UPnP AV MediaServer and MediaRenderer implemented through a plug-in
mechanism. Interoperability with other devices in the market is achieved by
conformance to very strict requirements of DLNA and on the fly conversion of
media to format that client devices are capable of handling.
