 here on
the mailing list, that's why I'm asking.

 See http://davyd.livejournal.com/190070.html

Btw, translators have started complaining that they have too few
 messages to translate? :)

No, we're just worried we might have to translate them again! :D

Carlos does: usually twice or three times a day ;)

This is my crontab entry:

0 2,10,18 * * * $HOME/bin/update.sh

That's 2:00, 10:00 and 18:00 and usually, it takes between two and three
hours (sometimes more)

The server timezone is UTC + 0200

Cheers.

 Cheers,
 Danilo

updated welcome to evolution message in cvs

2006-08-22 Thread Andre Klapper
dear translators,

for gnome 2.16, the evolution team has updated the welcome to
evolution message that every new evolution user has in his/her inbox by
default.

it is located at evolution/mail/default/C/Inbox in cvs and translated by
creating a copy of it to the directory evolution/mail/default/$LOCALE
and adding the locale to the file evolution/mail/default/Makefile.am.
the new Makefile also has to be added to evolution/configure.in
- just search for mail/default/C/Makefile to find the right place
(it's line 1736 or something like that).

[to avoid discussions here: any criticism on this complex and translator
unfriendly mechanism goes to bug 206066.]

so if anyone is interested in challenges and has some spare time (hey -
just joking):
it is also possible to translate the quick reference card in evolution's
help menu, see http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=307856 for a
how-to for editing a tex files, converting them to pdf, and uploading
them to the cvs.

many thanks,
andre

[Fwd: Re: GNOME Power Manager manual]

2006-08-22 Thread Daniel Nylander

What shall we do with the manual for GNOME Power Manager?
The PO translations does not include all the strings as the XML ones.
The translations are not included in the [1] statistics
This change should not include source code changed (misunderstand me
correct)
Only Swedish and Russian translations are done for the manual.

What to do? Release with missing strings or incorporate them?

Daniel

 Hi Richard,

I have translated GNOME Power Manager to Swedish.
There seem to be a lot of missing strings in the manual (under
 /help/xx/xx.po).

Can you provide an updated POT file or merge the new structure with both
  /help/sv/sv.po and /help/ru/ru.po ?

Hmm, I'm not sure how to do this. I think we've also got to be careful
as we are so close to the hard-code-freeze.

The best thing to do is jump on IRC (or email) to the
gnome-translation-project
(http://developer.gnome.org/projects/gtp/contact.html) and they will
know exactly how to do this.

Sorry I'm not more help,

Richard.
