I don't know exactly what you mean when you say adding context in the string headers. But you can look up the Q_() macro and g_strip_context() in the GLib API reference manual if you need to have them explained. As far as I know this is still the recommended way to add translation context to strings in GNOME applications. The solution is to add context and to use N_() in the initializer.
Then,
in the code where gettext() is currently used to translate the struct
entry, this code needs to be changed to use g_strip_context().
Here's an
example from the GIMP source code for translating a GtkActionEntry
label:
label = g_strip_context (entries[i].label, gettext (entries
[i].label));

Hi, Initially it was only Bengali (bn). Bengali is the first language of Bangladesh. And some parts of India use it. We have both Bangladeshi and Indian volunteers for this l10n project. Later it forked into Bengali (India) bn_IN, cause there are some differences in the dialect. Hello everybody I just finished translating the Danish version of the release notes and they are now on-line, now all I am missing is for somebody to read them :) . Since everybody land on the english page at first I was wondering if I allowed to edit the string that contains the list of languages the release notes are available in, in the eng.po so that it contains Danish also? Done. BTW that particular list, of the languages the release notes are available in, is still way to large in the msgid. This means that if translators translate it directly they have a bunch of broken links in their release notes. In the po file there is the following comment: #. TODO: Comment out the ones that don't have full translations, #. and be sure to add new translations, #. but keep them uncommented until near the release date, #. so that we have translations of the languages if needed. but is that meant for you or for us. Meaning will you at some point reduce that list in the msgid or should we do it ourselves in the msgstr ? New translations
Hi all, I'm new coordinator of uzbek team. today I added translation t gnome-panel modul. Anybybody can check this modul for errors? I edited ChangleLog and add [EMAIL PROTECTED] string to LINGUAS. All changes I made in /po directory. Is this enough And in uzbek now we use cyrillic and latin script. Noew I added only cyrillik translation. Where can I add latin translation. And last question. I saw there is trunk and branch for all modules in svn server. Where I must work, in trunk or in branches?
