Hi! I file was missing from POTFILES.in obviously. Though as most traslation only miss 5 strings it's likely that not all strings are new. Hi! sorry to ask, but why also on 2.26 and not only on HEAD? Tarballs for 2.26.1 were due yesterday and release day will be tomorrow... These strings are untranslated at the moment anyway. By adding them to the 2.26 branch there is a chance that they might be translated in 2.26.2 and if not it's not worse as if there were not marked for translation. I know that some teams always are more tied to have a 100% statistic than all strings marked but you all know that statistics are just damned-lies. Oh really? ;-) Probably the better way to go would be to try to change the
current TP state, not just because it's being actively used by
some maintainers and translators. Just avoiding it in this case doesn't
improve the situation. So GNOME translators might want to start discussion
with the TP coordinators/admins about the future of the TP.
Sure, in general, this would be the way forward, but the question was
not this. However, I think not choosing a bad solution helps in the case
of a given module.

of these is webkitgtk, if it wants to be part of the core soon (like
before Gnome 3.0), then I'd suggest not using such services.

Just to avoid confusion, by downstream here I mean the distributor's
infrastructure, whether it's translate.fedoraproject.org or
translations.launchpad.net. So yes, it's irrelevant whether the transifex
software itself is an upstream project, or not.

Barriers for i18n/l10n in approved external depencedies
I was investigating the current status of Italian translations for some external deps of GNOME, mostly stuff hosted on freedesktop.org I found that some crucial stuff for GNOME (avahi, pulseaudio, shared-mime-info, but also packagekit) is using Fedora Trasifex[1] to manage transations. This also mean that you should be a Fedora Community member[2] in order to translate that shaded (i.e. cross-distro and cross-desktop) moduled. Note that Fedora Community asks you a SSH key, a GPG key, the signing of a Contributors License Agreement, your telephon number and postal address. Can we, the GNOME Translation Project, try to lobby freedesktop.org asking to provide a proper infrastructure for translations of shared stuff (mostly hosted on freedesktop itself)?
