Locked account on l10n.g.o

2010-02-04 Thread Luca Ferretti
Hi, Sergio Zanchetta have tried to create an account for himself on
l10n.gnome.org, but it seems that something goes wrong (maybe related to
openid and launchpad).

The username is Sergio. Could you please try to unlock or remove it.
Thanks.

PS do we have a standard procedure for those issues?

Giggle module problems

2010-02-04 Thread Matej Urbančič
Hello,

11 days ago I committed giggle translation for translator Andrej Žmodaršič
http://git.gnome.org/browse/giggle/

11 days Updated Slovenian translation Andrej Žnidaršič1 -0/+745

For some unknown reason, the module is not calculated in statistics
for Extra GNOME Applications.

Can someone, please, take a look at it.
Thanks,

Matej

Same problem for me. I've committed my translation at 2009-01-31

Vertimus doesn't update the translation state.

Cheers,

Modules moved to obsolete (was: Re: Additional NetworkManager branches to translate)

Packages that have not seen a single non-translation commit since two
years are/should be here. If you know about such packages in the
gnome-extras list, let us know and we put it there.

Here is a list that are worth being investigated.
Maybe they are not obsolete.

Argh, slap me with whatever you keep around for lazy people :(.

I reviewed the list below, those marked with a * are now in the obsolete
category, as they showed no life signals in the last two years.

atomato *
atomix
camorama
criawips *
drgeo
gnome-spell *
gnomeicu
guikachu *
monster-masher
resapplet *
straw *

Thanks!

And these seem dead too:

memprof
gtetrinet
gnome-mount, as per:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-mount/+bug/382108/comments/3

Sorry for the delay and thanks for the list

Oh... this is a bug in Damned-Lies, because the repository is not
changed when the vcs_root field of the module is changed (giggle was
previously on a non GNOME repo).
I manually fixed the problem, but we should one day properly address
this issue :-P

Sergio should now be able to login with his password. The communication
problem for this Canonical-hosted server with ubuntu.com domain is known
for... should I say years ?? Funny, isn't it?

PS do we have a standard procedure for those issues?

Either use bugzilla, write to the list or ping me on #i18n.

Re: String strike force

2010-02-04 Thread F Wolff
Op Wo, 2010-02-03 om 16:59 + skryf Bruce Cowan:
I proposed a string strike force last August[0]. I think it was a
reasonably well received, but I think the idea lost steam due to it
being the wrong time of year. Now that string freeze is nearly upon us,
I thought I'd start the ball rolling again.

I think that the best way to go would be to have a sort of
meta-translation like that proposed in [1].

I realise this may be a bit late for 2.30 now, but I have been putting
 this off too long.

I want to help out in my way:

I want to write a tool that tries to automate as many of the issues that
we can. I realise that many things can't be done, but I am reasonably
sure we can do a few interesting things automatically.

It is on my list of things to do for the next few months to write
something like this (I've wanted to do it for some time) to try to make
it easier for programmers to write cleaner strings, and maybe also to
help the string strike force.

Please help me by taking notes of classes of errors, or things that we
might be able to spot automatically. I'll try to put some time aside to
script these things in a new tool built on the Translate Toolkit.

Keep well
Friedel

You might find some inspiration here:
http://git.gnome.org/browse/gnome-i18n/tree/en_GB/en_GB.pl

It's horrible and crufty (and written in Perl!), but I find its --check
functionality invaluable.
