Maybe you could post or link to the standard instructions for how to
get the translations from gnome-3-6 merged into the new ones

preview the translations (temporary website with usernames and

 Dear Allan and list,

Could you please, commit all the existing Tajik translations and include
Tajik language into upcoming Gnome release.

Thank you and have a great day!

 Subject: GNOME 3.8 Release Notes

 Hi all,

The release notes for the next GNOME version have been finished. They
can be found in the gnome-3-8 branch of the release-notes module [1].

3.8 is due to be release on March 27, so it would be great to have
them in as many languages as possible before then. Please feel free to
ask me any questions if you have them.

 Thanks in advance,

 Allan

 Hi all,

nautilus-sendto has been in a quite broken state for some time now, with
many of the plugins not working correctly if at all.
In the long term, I think we should have the concept of a generic DBus
sharing service API applications can use, but a more short-term solution
is to just strip down nautilus-sendto so that its arguably most important
feature (sending files by email) is nicely integrated and works correctly
 (tracked in bug [1]).

This was on our roadmap for 3.6, but it was too late in the cycle back then
to make this change. Six months later we're essentially at the same point,
and I think it makes sense now to push for this change to be included in the
 release.

Patches are on the bug report, feedback and comments appreciated.

 Any opinion on this?
No 3.7 tarball of nautilus-sendto has been released yet, and I'm planning
to release nautilus 3.7.92 later today, so there would still potentially be
time for the change to be included in this release.

Even if I didn't spell it explicitly in my previous message, the change
implies an UI freeze break request for nautilus-sendto, and a string freeze
 break request for nautilus.

I'd prefer to remove nautilus-sendto from 3.8; it's in my opinion way
too late in the schedule to get those changes in and appropriately
tested.

Still, I'd let this slip in, be tested in .92, translated, and removed
from 3.8.0 if necessary.

Hi Fred,

Note that the n-s-t part of the patch is essentially only about removing
non-working code paths — code for launching the mail client and preparing
the message doesn't change, so it will be easy to test it works correctly
(and of course I'll do testing myself before pushing it).
Overall, I think it's better to have a working Email feature than no n-s-t

Somebody (probably plural) with git commit access needs to get them into
the Git code repository. By setting the status to committing you
indicated that you will do it. Probably best to keep the status as
ready for submission instead.

Hello Victor and list

Thank you very much for your translation effort, Victor.

I´ve checked that some files are not translated at all. Please,
undestand that is not recommendable the commit of files that had just a
few messages translated (like just one string translated).

So, in those cases, they will be let there in Damned Lies and in the
future you can finish translating them and commiting by your own.

Re: GNOME 3.8 Release Notes

2013-03-19 Thread Daniel Mustieles García
Just 4 languages have been commited, so the fix should't have a ver big
impact. Are those fixes language-dependant or they are just changes in
final dots, tags or similar? If so, updating the PO files should be easy to
do.

In any case, no problem for es.

 Hi all,

It has been brought to my attention that there are two small factual
inaccuracies in the release notes. I'd like to update them but I don't
want to interfere with ongoing translation work.

Any advice on how I should proceed?

Re: State of nautilus-sendto for 3.8

2013-03-19 Thread Cosimo Cecchi
Hey, just a little update on this.

Since I didn't get approval from i18n, I went ahead and released nautilus
3.7.92 without the string changes for now.
As there are no other code changes involved, I think it's fine to commit
that before 3.8.0, should the change be approved and the n-s-t part
merged/released as well in time.

Cheers,
Cosimo

   Any opinion on this?
No 3.7 tarball of nautilus-sendto has been released yet, and I'm
 planning
to release nautilus 3.7.92 later today, so there would still
 potentially be
time for the change to be included in this release.

Even if I didn't spell it explicitly in my previous message, the change
implies an UI freeze break request for nautilus-sendto, and a string
 freeze
   break request for nautilus.

I'd prefer to remove nautilus-sendto from 3.8; it's in my opinion way
too late in the schedule to get those changes in and appropriately
  tested.

Those changes are based on the existing nautilus-sendto code, they're
nicely separated, and they've been better tested than nautilus-sendto
had the chance to be in the past couple of releases.

Still, I'd let this slip in, be tested in .92, translated, and removed
  from 3.8.0 if necessary.

Cool. FWIW, the only string changes are the 2 strings in nautilus,
there's nothing more to translate in nautilus-sendto itself.

Regarding Someone to volunteer in GSOC2013 for Gnome Damned-lies project

2013-03-19 Thread chandan kumar
Hello,
I am Chandan Kumar who is currently pursuing B.tech in Computer Science And
Engineering from Dr.B.C.Roy Engineering College, Durgapur (India).
I am contributing to gnome project through Hindi translation and also
acting as a committer of Gnome Hindi l10n team from gnome 3.4 release.[1]
I know git, Mercurial, python and Django (Beginner), and Basic shell
commands.
I have tried to solve sum patches for gnome-damned-lies with the help of
claude and solving others also.[2]
I have approached to apply for GSOC 2013 under the guidance of GIl Forcada
for this project. But due to some reason, he is not volunteering for gsoc
2013 for this project.
If anybody wants to or willing to volunteer me as a mentor for gnome
Damned-lies project? it would be appreciable.

Hi Gil!

Thank you for pushing the translations!
I hope that statistics will grow with quality Tajik translations, so Tajik
users enjoy working with software in their own language.

Have a great day!
