RE: GNOME 3.8 Release Notes

2013-03-20 Thread Victor Ibragimov
Hi Enrico, Gil and others,

Yes, it sounds like we have a good progress of 10% with Tajik translations.
As you noticed some files has just a few messages translated, so that is OK to
leave them in Damned Lies to complete later and commit as 100% translated.

The Damned Lies portal is wonderful and very comfortable to manage
translations. I really like the User management part and options on how the
team members can inform each other about the work process through statuses and
comments. Great job on the portal!

Hope to see new version of Gnome with some Tajik language soon. It will allow
to share Gnome software in Tajik with friends and colleagues, and of course,
try to receive their comments to improve the quality of our translations for
future releases.

I look forward to get more details on how to work with git to commit future
works, and that will be really helpful to receive some screenshots about how to
do the basic steps.

Thank you and have a wonderful day!
Victor

By the way, do you have Gnome files for translation at GitHub?
I support Tajik translations for PoEdit and GoldenDict at

I just thought if I could add Gnome repository at github.com for file
submissions, if available.

Again: Bugzilla is not the place for policy discussions so I'd appreciate if
you could bring it to the bigger target audience of translators. That's the
mailing list.

Thanks, also, if it is nothing new, how come it has not been solved yet ;)

Because it's a trade-off (lots of mostly unneeded work for developers that
could spend in better ways) and there's no easy solution?

String additions to 'nautilus-sendto.master'

This is an automatic notification from status generation scripts on:

There have been following string additions to module 'nautilus-sendto.master':

+ Archive
+ Run from build directory (ignored)
+ Use XID as parent to the send dialogue (ignored)

Note that this doesn't directly indicate a string freeze break, but it
might be worth investigating.

Hi again.

As promised, here is the updated report about typos in documentation tags.

If your language is on the list, please review and fix to avoid errors when
compiling the affected modules. Below is the list of the languages with
errors.

Please note that this report reflects typos in ALL the documentation files.
Since we are near the 3.8 release, maybe you'll want to focus your efforts
in just the core modules. If someone wants it, I can generate a report with
just the typos in core documentation.

Many thanks for your help and happy translating!

Actually, the command you need to run in gnome-help/de/ is:

This is because yelp . expects an index.page file, but this file is
already installed with gnome-help from gnome-user-docs, so we can't install
it with getting-started.

OK, it works so far. I've just downloaded the tarball v3.7.92, and it
contains the translated SVG files. But what about translated webm
animations? They are missing from the tarball and Yelp shows empty
player frames only. I've seen it Git, the webm files are included in the
