New strings in nautilus

2022-08-23 Thread António Fernandes via gnome-i18n
Hello again!

We've added new strings for the Trash infobar, which replace an old string.

OLD:

> "Trashed items are automatically deleted after a period of time"

NEW:

> "Items in Trash older than 1 hour are automatically deleted"

> "Items in Trash older than %d day are automatically deleted"
> "Items in Trash older than %d days are automatically deleted"

Older here refers to how long ago these files have been sent to the
Trash, not their actual age.

I attach a screenshot of where these strings are used.

Cheers
António

String Change Announcement - 1 new string in nautilus

2022-08-10 Thread António Fernandes
Hello.

The "“%s” deleted" string has been changed to "“%s” moved to trash".

This string is displayed in a toast (attached screenshot). It's meant
to use consistent language with the "Move to Trash" menu item and
other trash-related translatable strings.

Best regards,
António

String changes in nautilus

2020-08-08 Thread António Fernandes
Hi, Translation teams,

Version 3.37.90 of the Files app has been released yesterday, but we forgot
to add 2 new files for translation, which has been fixed today.

The new files introduce string changes for the File Properties dialog, with
the removal of trailing colons in many text strings present in previous
versions. Examples:

"_Name:" → "_Name"
"Parent folder:" → "Parent folder"
"Access:" → "Access"
...

António

String Change Announcement - 1 new string in nautilus

2020-02-04 Thread António Fernandes
Hello.

A new translatable string has been introduced:

"There was an error getting information about the source."

We already had a similar string "There was an error getting information
about the destination." Both are used in error dialogs when copy/move
operations fail for these reasons.

Best regards,
António

New Strings Announcement - Tooltips in Files

2019-08-11 Thread António Fernandes
Hello Docs and Translations teams,

Five new strings are soon to be added to the Files app. They were missing
action tooltips for the icon buttons in the primary menu:

"New Window",
"New Tab",
"Cut",
"Copy",
"Paste".

They already had translations in some .po files that have not been updated
for a few releases.

The MR also adds a "New Folder", but an identical string was already in use
in another file.

MR: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/nautilus/merge_requests/472

Cheers,
António Fernandes

String Change Announcement: 1 new string in nautilus

2018-08-03 Thread António Fernandes via gnome-i18n
Hello.

A new string was introduced here:
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/nautilus/commit/1dfc03550ebc0844bc471effe40382a56e87155c#d855ebf2ecfbaaecd54833ac8be4ecff855a6c1c_74_77

We already had "File name is too long." and "Folder name is too long.", so
"Archive name is too long." completes the set.

António
