Translation of Gnome Extensions at extensions.gnome.org
Hello, I can't find any threads about that and I'm wondering if there was ever a debate regarding translation of gnome extensions. I mean those gathered at https://extensions.gnome.org/, not merely the package gnome-extensions. There are many many usefull, but momentarily cramp the UI. Hello, I do appreciate this debate, it is very important ... I need to chip in my 2 cents. I was not aware Arnaud was committing changes to different projects, but: - he did send me a note, pointing me to 2 translations that broke UI (which still bedazzle me, how that happened), - he asked about couple of other strings - I asked him to update the Slovenian translation since the time span before release was short but - then I found some extra time and checked and updated the dconf-editor anyway, committing additional changes. I did not feel any problems about our communication ... even more, if he hadn't notified me, I would not till now be aware of the errors!, and even worse, I would commit later updates with the same breaking string. The problem I see in cases like Slovenian example about Translators is lack of "Comments" from developers, similarly comments would be useful also when the strings are spited, unusual, long ... searching where strings pops up is a drag. Comments should describe where and what a specific string is. Gnome Shell Extensions
Hello, is there a reason, why Gnome Shell Extensions only cover sistem translations, but not actual extensions? I played around with a few of them and find them very useful. Some really have only couple of strings, but some, like gnome-shell-extension-openweather, have many! I would propose combining them with the main GSE package and of course clearly comment where the strings come from. Hello, I started translating, and as I did, I found, that most of the strings are very new. Fuzzy are fuzzy, not correct. Expect updates frequently until the final, without fuzzies, comes out. M! Those are both verbs too :) Yes, now I know :) Well, they're system calls: fstat() will return details (stats) about a file that's open, and mmap() will map it into memory. And if those system calls fail, we print those messages. I should change those to say Failed to... as well, and it'll be clearer. Or you can add a comment! Thanks! Comparing modul on Gnome http://l10n.gnome.org/vertimus/gst-plugins-good/master/po/sl and on translation project http://translationproject.org/domain/gst-plugins-good.html for Slovenian language it shows, that TP shows current version 0.10.23.2 as fully translated, while Gnome shows current master as missing 7 translations. SO, how do I send to master branch version of translation to TP? Does anyone have an idea whom to ask on TP? How do I send master branch version of translation for e.g. http://l10n.gnome.org/module/gstreamer/ If I enter the gstreamer-master.sl.po, the TP robot returns error. Hello, Can someone please shed some light on why are translations in freedesktop.org (external apps) shown on the gnome website, even thou the files are not hosted on git.gnome? Is there any possibilities to host them on gnome? Sending through TR-Robot is even more time consuming then git ... You have to merge the translations in the po file to an xml file, and open that xml with yelp to test the translation. See also xml2po --help. Hello, gnome-i18n list :) There is a problem with the libgnomekbd package in subversion. I updated Slovenian language and posted the changes to svn, but the changes are not included in the stats. The po file is there (http://svn.gnome.org/viewvc/libgnomekbd/trunk/), but the statistic page (http://l10n.gnome.org/module/libgnomekbd) does not show it. I don't think the error is caused by the po file, since it compiles OK, but I am really not sure.
