New strings in Evince

2008-09-01 Thread Nickolay V. Shmyrev
Hi

We've recently dropped libgnome in Evince, unfortunately the little
drawback is that 14 new strings were added for libegg/smclient.

Thanks

Evince branched for 2.20

2007-10-09 Thread Nickolay V. Shmyrev
Stable branch is gnome-2-20

We hope next stable release will bring us a lot of useful features like
imported GSoC annotations work, DVI specials support. Probably there
will be time to solve zoom problems for big zoom. But the main priority
will be stability, test coverage and proper documentation.

New strings in evolution

2007-01-26 Thread Nickolay V. Shmyrev
Hello all

I've gone through evolution plugins and marked some strings as
translatable. So expect new strings in both gnome-2-16 and trunk. For
more details see bug #399381

First weekday in GtkCalendar

2006-11-29 Thread Nickolay V. Shmyrev
Dear translators.

Recently gtk was ported to use glibc locale to calculate first day in a
week with NL_TIME_FIRST_WEEKDAY. Unfortunately the default in glibc is
Sunday and the data for locales in glibc is very uncomplete. This change
broke many languages.

So if your week starts on Monday please check your gtk calendar on a
panel and submit glibc bug for locale data.

See for example http://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3430

Metacity.schemas misses translation

2006-09-04 Thread Nickolay V. Shmyrev
Hi all.

I've accidentally discovered that long descriptions like for metacity
keys like:

 locale name=C
 shortMinimize window/short
 long
The keybinding used to minimize a window.
The format looks like lt;Controlgt;a or
lt;Shiftgt;lt;Altgt;F The parser is
fairly liberal and allows lower or upper case, and also
abbreviations such as lt;Ctlgt; and lt;Ctrlgt;. If
you set
the option to the special string disabled, then there
will be no keybinding for this action.
 /long

aren't translated at all in metacity schemas. For me it looks like it's
quite serious intltool bug, although I'm not sure. This strings are a
bit ugly in metacity - they almost duplicate each other and it's very
hard to translate them, but some languages have them translated in po
files. Where did they dissappear? Can someone bring some light on this
question?

Thanks

Note that some modules still use gnome-2-14 (gnome-system-tools, ekiga).

Have I missed something? probably there is a new stats page already.
Heh, it would be handy to get this statistics in the same page with UI
one, but I understand it's too hard thing. Is there bug about it?

It's in the works, almost ready, but needs some polish.

 Cheers,

Great, thanks a lot for your work.

Translation of gtk tuturial

2006-06-10 Thread Nickolay V. Shmyrev
Hello all.

I now there was done quite amazing work about translation of gtk
tutorial and I know there were some other translations

http://linfoline.homedns.org/gtk/book1.html

http://kldp.org/KoreanDoc/html/GtkTutorial/GtkTutorial.html

What about making gtk tutorial translatable with docutils like all
user documentation and merging those translations upstream?

I don't ask about reference manual translation but it's also interesting,
although not realistic. Probably it's not sensible to distribute tutorial
with gtk package itself but use something like a web-based Rosetta.

Stripped translations for gnome-user-guide

2006-03-14 Thread Nickolay V. Shmyrev
Hello all,

Sorry, probably I've missed something, but why gnome-user-docs 2.14 goes
without Russian translation? Of course, it's incomplete, around 40 percent of
strings were translated in CVS, but some sections were translated completely.
What was the problem? Italian was included but it's also far from complete.

And just a note, please stop modifications of release note, it's really hard to
update translations every hour. Probably we need doc freeze timeline for the
next release cycle.
