[GNC] Autofill with Open Date?

2018-06-06 Thread Sensei Tim Rosanelli

Hi All,

I am using Gnucash for my business and love it but I have one question.

Most of my transaction are via credit card. That means that the invoice
open date, line item date, post date, due date, and payment date are all
the same. Gnucash autofills with todays date but I am usually entering
invoices a few day later.  Gnucash requires me to enter each date
individually which requires a huge amount of time.

Is there any way to automatically enter the post date, due date, and
payment? Or is there any way for these field to autofill with the open
date instead of today's date? This would save me hours of work each month.

Thanks.

Tim Rosanelli

Ok Tom.  Good to hear you were successful.  I wondered about the 2.8 also, but
it seems to be the right file.  Mike

Thanks Michael,
I created a test report and found a new file in the AppData folder for GnuCash
called saved-reports-2.8 which I find odd since this is v3.  Nevertheless the
file is new and, looking at it in a text editor, it contains the definition for
the test report I just created.  I had to do a search of my entire hard drive,
but found a file similarly called saved-reports-2.4.  I backed up the 2.8
version and just copied the 2.4 versions into the new folder and the reports
automagically reappeared.
I appreciate your good suggestions.

Yes, it was removed. GnuCash 3.x uses Gtk+-3.x because many Linux distributions
dropped support for the older WebKit library that worked with Gtk+-2. The
Windows Theme program worked only with Gtk+-2 and we were unable to find a
similar program that works with Gtk+-3.

For instructions on how to theme Gtk+-3 see https://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/GTK3

Wow! Didn't expect a reply that fast!
No, I wasn't transferring, just trying to enter a date in the past when

Hi George,

It is not possible to add new values to the drop down list without modifying
the program, but it is possible to type anything into the field. If you don't
have many new values, a work around may be to program a function key to emit a
value like "Debit Card". I don't know how to do that on a Mac but it should be
possible. You could try Googling.

Have you never manipulated a PHP server page, which is a mix of PHP
scripting an HTML? If IDE's accept that (and not this) then it's an IDE
bug because, syntactically they are effectively identical -- short of the
necessarily for balanced parens. Indeed, e-guile was modelled off the PHP
model.

As for the indentation rules -- again I think it's just a matter of
training the IDE to know how to properly indent it. Emacs knows how to
indent scheme, and it knows how to indent HTML -- so it should be able to
be taught how to indent a merging of the two.

YMMV, of course.

It's an unholy mix of tags and snippets, mixed together
that's not intelligible to any of the IDEs I've used, and cannot be
beautified in by any sane indenting rules. There's no clear beginning nor
end, and unclear where code or text lies. It begins with a doctype, yet is
an .scm, is not accepted by any html validator, nor navigable by emacs.
Otherwise, it's fine, really!

It's an open text field. Just type in what you want, and it should (may?)
include that as an autofill option later in the same register.

[GNC] Saved Report Configurations Missing After Upgrade to v3

2018-06-06 Thread Thomas Forrester
I just now upgraded to 3.1.2 from 2.x. Looking for my saved reports,
GnuCash tells me I have none. Not true, at least before the upgrade anyway.

I am using MySQL as the database, and I did read that there have been
changes to the default data storage locations. Not sure that's relevant
when using MySQL since it's a database not a file, but I also do not know
if the upgrade somehow tried to relocate stuff to the OS-appropriate
storage location?

Anyone else lose their reports and get them back?

Thanks.

[GNC] Actions List

2018-06-06 Thread GEORGE HAMMOND
I am currently using version 3.0 of gnucash for Mac OSX 10.13.4. Is there a
way to modify the Actions list to tailor it to my use. I would like to add
items such as Debit Card to the list.

Thanks,
