Re: [GNC] UK VAT and "Making Tax Digital"
. As the UK generally shows the world the way, we may as well sort a solution because every mother’s son will soon be asking for it. If I knew my bits from my bytes I would offer to help but I don’t. I am becoming Mr Angry over this. My tiny wine export (to UK) company simply does not turn enough profit for me to pay for the commercial solutions (yes, even £75 a year is difficult as it requires another £2,000 of turnover to cover it. John I experienced similar problems with f:q. I tired to run gnc-fq-update through the terminal but it does not recognise the command. Re: [GNC] gnucash won't start on Mac
Les I see Colin has given you instructions on how to allow gnucash on your Mac. You may find it no longer shows in your preferences so start again! Shut gnucash. Open preferences. Put preferences where you can find it and then open gnucash. When it tells you it is restricted, go to preferences as Colin explained and there should be a message about gnucash. Accept it and it should open. If you have more problems, let us know. BTW, gnucash does not “install” to the Applications folder. You need to drag it from the mounted gnucash folder to your applications folder manually. You can then drag the icon from the applications folder to the dock for easier access. Good luck. Re: [GNC] [OT] Why is Debit abbreviated Dr?
David I would love to agree with you but….. In standard journal notation cr is a debt and dr an asset. This is because it is nothing to do with credit (+ve) and debit (-ve) in any sense (or tense) but to do with a creditor (to whom we owe) and a debtor (who owes us). Hence dr and cr relate to debtor and creditor and not to any form of debit or credit. For example, if I take cash from the cash box and deposit it at the bank I enter a cr to the cashbook and a dr to the bank account. Totally counterintuitive which is why accountancy is a black art and should be banned. I am also an engineer that has been a finance director for many years (but that does not necessarily give me the right to write what is right). [GNC] Mouse and cursor misalignment
Gnucash 3.2 on MacBook Pro running 10.13.6 High Sierra. I have not seen any other comments in the mailing list but I have a variable and occasionally annoying displacement between the mouse icon on the screen and the actual position of the cursor on the screen. For example, in ledgers, I have to place the mouse in the line above the line I want to work in to get the cursor to click in it. It does not occur on all screens which in some ways makes it worse. It makes these of the mouse a secondary option as I try to use keyboard shortcuts wherever I can. This started in the last version in the 2.xx series and has continued. Is it just me or are others experiencing this problem? Is there anything I can do to overcome it?
