Unfortunately no. CSV is the only file download option.

I stopped using AQBanking and direct connect a while ago. Does USAA offer
ofx/qfx downloads in addition to CSV? I download qfx/ofx files from site that
offer it without using Direct connect. I find it works well, without the
direct connect headaches.

Yes, that's just a FAQ that doesn't provide a way around the current
issue.

What I meant is the actual URLs from before where you authorized
quicken/gnucash direct connect access no longer exist.

Re: [GNC] USAA OFX Direct Connect stopped working

2023-12-17 Thread Kalpesh Patel
It might be wise to wait until after the weekend is over.

As an IT person I can tell, at least from my experience leading teams, that
disruptive and or large changes/releases tend to get scheduled over the
weekend. If they are updating then by Monday market open they end up being
auto-magically "fixed". Of course if the function is being decommissioned
then it will never work again ...

I had the same problem yesterday. I worked around it by downloading a CSV of
the transactions from the account and importing that instead.

It's possible that it's just a glitch that will get corrected in a few days.

Application Consent | USAA

etc

They took them all down.

Re: [GNC] USAA OFX Direct connect stopped working

2023-07-23 Thread Jon Schewe
I just tried going through the setup page again and I was able to
retrieve my accounts from USAA during the setup. However after that
when I try and download transactions I get the following:

Status for signon request: General error (Code 2000, severity "ERROR")
Error other than those specified by the remaining error codes. (Note:
Servers should provide a more specific error whenever possible. Error
code 2000 should be reserved for cases in which a more specific code is
not available.)
Status for transaction statement request: Signon invalid (Code 15500,
severity "ERROR")
The user cannot signon because he or she entered an invalid user ID or
password.
Unlocking customer "4"

Any other suggestions?

Jon

2023-07-18 Thread John Ralls
BTW, I also got the invalid signon from USAA this morning. I repeated the drill
at https://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/OFX_Direct_Connect_Bank_Settings#USAA and got
the exact same access id and pin. Once completed I was able to retrieve my
transactions.

First, try again tomorrow on the off chance USAA had a server outage over
the weekend. If it still fails, turn on OFX logging (see
 https://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/AqBanking#Debugging) and capture the actual
OFX response. Edit it to remove your actual account number and credentials
 then post it here.

Access id is configured in the AQBanking setup wizard accessed from
Tools>Online Banking Setup. The PIN is collected every time you run
Actions>Online>Get Transactions unless you told GnuCash to remember it. If you
did you can tell it to forget from Preferences>Online Banking.

Re: [GNC] USAA OFX Direct connect stopped working

2023-07-17 Thread Daffy Duck
Ok, as of today, I can no longer use the online download again.

22:35:38 Status for signon request: General error (Code 2000, severity
"ERROR")
Error other than those specified by the remaining error codes. (Note:
Servers should provide a more specific error whenever possible. Error
code 2000 should be reserved for cases in which a more specific code is
not available.)
22:35:38 Status for account info request: Signon invalid (Code 15500,
severity "ERROR")
The user cannot signon because he or she entered an invalid user ID or
password.

And the problem is, I can't find the info on how to set ACCESS ID: and
ACCESS PIN: so I can do it over again.

Any ideas?

Re: [GNC] USAA switching from OFX DirectConnect to EWC+

2023-06-04 Thread David Cousens

Pat

The EWC+ protocol is an exchange of security certificates between the requested
and the server providing the data.

The easy way out for the bank's software is usually to utilize some sort of
certificate issued by the software provider which has been previously authorized
by the bank instead of implementing a process which issues a security
certificate to the bank's client. This is because such a certificate is then
necessarily external to the software and not hardwired into the software'scode
so that it cannot be hacked (easily) by simply accessing a client's' computer
and copying a certificate issued by the bank directly to the user.

This effectively transfers the responsibility for the security of the data
transfers from the bank to the software provider which of course suits the bank.

This makes it difficult for open source software where the source code is
necessarily publicly accessible and a certificate's details cannot easily be
compiled into the code. EWC+ is a Intuit implementation of FDX and not openly
available outside Quicken's software.

This worried me, that a computer program had this control over your
bank account - does it just download your important secrets or can this
account access do other things?

It also gives us some information on what USAA and Quicken programmers
are doing.
That information is needed to replicate it in any other program.

[GNC] USAA switching from OFX DirectConnect to EWC+

2023-06-04 Thread Ward
Has anyone attempted to reconfigure GnuCash to handle an EWC+ connection? As of
this writing, a representative confirmed that USAA no longer supports
DirectConnect for bank accounts. Credit card accounts still work for the moment.

A note on Quicken's website reads:

USAA has discontinued Express Web Connect, and is in the process of
discontinuing Direct Connect. They are updating to a new method of providing
data to applications like Quicken, called EWC+ (Quicken Connect in Mac). Going
forward, you'll use a bank-hosted sign-in form to authorize downloads. The
overall process for adding accounts and downloading is the same, but the screen
you use to sign in to USAA will look different.

For your security, USAA may periodically request that you reauthorize your
accounts in Quicken by signing in again. This may happen every 90 days or so.

Best,

[GNC] USAA Direct Connect Issue - again.

2023-01-05 Thread smada46
A couple of weeks ago I attempted to download my USAA transactions using Direct
Connect for OFX through GnuCash. It failed several times over a couple of days
with the error: “The user cannot sign on because he or she entered an invalid
user ID or password.” I then followed the procedures to reenroll. The Access
ID and Access Pin were the same but the URL produced a new 5 section Client ID
which I changed to all caps and input into Aqbanking per the directions Once
input, I then successfully downloaded my accounts after putting in my Access
Pin. I applied everything and closed Aqbanking. I received an e-mail from
USAA confirming that Quicken Direct Connect was now connected to my USAA
accounts. I also logged on to my profile at USAA and confirmed that Quicken
Direct Connect showed as a connected app.

At that point, I again tried to download transactions through GnuCash and
received the same error: Following is the script for that action. (Note I
have changed the User and account numbers to X’s)

Note: In the trace, the “Handling User” is followed by the Access ID. The
“Handling Account” is followed by a four digit number that is different than
the Customer number in the script. When testing download of a different
account, the “Handling Account” is followed by another different number so
“Handling Account” is probably account specific.

After the last failure, I went back to Aqbank setup and tried to again download
my accounts as a test and this time it failed with the same error message.

This same issue happened in May 2021 and I reenrolled as above and it worked
fine until now

Any ideas or help on how to fix this would be appreciated.

The problem started while using GC 4.11.1 though it worked perfectly in GC
4.11.1 until recently and now the issue persists in GC 4.13. I’m using macOS
Monterey v 12.6.2

[GNC] USAA Online Actions stopped working

2022-08-22 Thread Keith Bellairs
I was using gnc 4.9 in MacOS Big Sur and successfully downloading checking
and credit card transactions from USAA Fed Savings Bank. Just upgraded to
gnc 4.11 and MacOS Monterey 12.5.1. "Get Transactions" now fails.

The connection window shows the following uninformative error:

Status for signon request: Success (Code 0, severity "INFO")
The server successfully processed the request.
Status for transaction statement request: General error (Code 2000,
severity "ERROR")
Error other than those specified by the remaining error codes. (Note:
Servers should provide a more specific error whenever possible. Error code
2000 should be reserved for cases in which a more specific code is not
available.)

Do I need to reconfigure my Online Banking Setup? It has been working for
years and I have no idea how I set it up. Is there a way to recover the
setup that was working?

First, try again tomorrow on the off chance USAA had a server outage over the
weekend. If it still fails, turn on OFX logging (see
https://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/AqBanking#Debugging) and capture the actual OFX
response. Edit it to remove your actual account number and credentials then

I'm having issues getting this working still.

Are you able to edit user and do "retrieve account list" and it works,
or no?

Re: [GNC] USAA FSB requires newer QWIN support

2021-03-01 Thread hmp3
Still feeling it was a Mac problem and using the logical progression of
numbers I put in QWIN 2800 and it works in that ofx.log shows success
and transactions exist as a single line.  The generic transaction
manager is blank and no transactions appear in the register.  I now
think the problem is with the Windows version of the transaction manager.

[GNC] USAA

2021-02-27 Thread tblackley--- via gnucash-user
Hi Richard,
Just to let you know I managed to get download from USAA working as of
yesterday. If you wish I can share what it required.
Regards,
Tom

I spoke with USAA tech support this morning. They told me GNU software
is not supported due to the software security issues.

Now if any of you are still accessing USAA via the GNU online banking,
there is still hope for me.

I have probably made 10 or more attempts to make it work by following
the info provided by John and trying something a little different each
time. I receive no error messages. When I click on the retrieve account
list, the dialog indicates it connected and is parsing the data. Then it
says the window can be closed. No error messages but no account list.

I understand, but good luck finding anything else. When I dumped Quicken
many years ago I found another program I used for a while, but can't
remember the name for it. I finally wrote my own check book program which I
used until I found GNU Cash.

If you are using GNU Cash to integrate all those accounts, have you thought
of combining all or most of them under one house like Schwab or Fidelity or
the like? Those now have much better analytical aids than I had with USAA
and my wife and I have been happy with just TD Ameritrade and Fidelity. And
both houses integrate well with H&R tax software (I took a clean break with
Quicken a long time ago).

Best regards,

-Tom

Richard, I stopped using USAA a couple of years ago, but I vaguely
remember the problem (and it's more complicated since they just went with
Schwab). I'm coming to this late but do they provide a CSV download?

That might be a older AQBanking6 issue. Try creating a dummy account on the
AQBanking Setup Dialog's Accounts tab then go back to Users and retrieve your

It did not work for me. I don't know if I missed some little input or

I did not receive an error message. It appear to go through the process

Richard,

For your first lesson, GnuCash developers don't accept personal emails. All
communications goes through the lists.

Second lesson: Everything you're asking is already explained in the 3 or 4
threads about USAA, one on gnucash-user and the other on gnucash-devel. I'll
summarize them on
https://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/OFX_Direct_Connect_Bank_Settings soon.

Re: [GNC] USAA FSB requires newer QWIN support

2021-02-13 Thread Bob White via gnucash-user

Keith,

A couple of questions.

1. Where is the config file to be edited? (I'm on MacOS so a file name is
probably all I need.) Or is this all doable in the wizard?

~/.aqbanking/settings6/users

If you have more than one user (one for each institution) there will be
multiple '.conf' files. Open each in your fav text editor until you find the
one that has 'USAA' in 'bankName' and/or 'org' fields.

Currently not supported with GNC 4.4.1--missing httpUserAgent in dialog.

Will be doable in the aqbanking wizard shortly--developers are working to get a
build together with the updates.

2. Is userName my login id on the USAA website or my member number? In the
previous version it was member number, not login id.

I have 'userName' as actual name with 'userId' and 'customerId' set to the new
access id acquired at  www.usaa.com/accessid

Bob

I got new USAA OFX download working with GNC 4.4.1.

It's mainly a configuration task.

-- User config --

int uniqueId=""

char backendName="aqofxconnect"

char userName=""

char userId=""

char customerId=""

char country="us"

char bankCode="314074269"

int lastSessionId="0"

data {

? backend {

? ? char bankName="USAA Federal Savings Bank"

? ? char org="USAA Federal Savings Bank"

? ? char fid="67811"

? ? char serverAddr="https%3A%2F%2Fdf3cx-services.1fsapi.com
<http://2fdf3cx-services.1fsapi.com/>%2Fcasm%2Fusaa%2Faccess.ofx"

? ? char appId="QMOFX"

? ? char appVer="2300"

? ? char headerVer="103"

? ? char clientUid=""

? ? int httpVMajor="0"

? ? int httpVMinor="0"

? ? char httpUserAgent="InetClntApp%2F3.0"

? } #backend

} #data

-

Notes:

? -- 'httpUserAgent' is currently not configurable through GNC v4.4.1, but
it works when included in the file. ?It has been added in newer AqBanking,
look for support in next GNC release.

? -- 'CLIENTUID' can be found in OFXLog.txt generated by Quicken. ?Signup
for trial and cancel within 30 days no charge.

? -- 'your new USAA access id' can be found at https://www.usaa.com/accessid

You will need to disconnect accounts from within the AqBanking Wizard,
download accounts with new user configuration, then reconnect accounts. ?In
my case, the new credit card account numbers in the accounts list are not a
100% match to the number found on your credit card. ?There were enough
common digits to know which was which, just be aware. ?I was able to
successfully download and update 2 checking accounts, a savings account,
and a credit card account.

I hope this helps.

Regards,

Bob

PS. ?I did clone the AqBanking repo and build and install the latest
libraries on the same machine I am running GNC. ?I am not sure if the
GNC?used the libraries distributed with it or the ones I built so YMMV.

Answering my own questions after I got it to work.

I picked a CLIENTUID that someone else posted and it worked.

When prompted for a password, it's the one from
https://www.usaa.com/accessid

When GnuCash prompts for a password, is it the one that was retrieved
from https://www.usaa.com/accessid?

Is it important that the CLIENTUID comes from Quicken? Or does it just
need to match a particular format?

Re: [GNC] USAA FSB requires newer QWIN support

2021-02-12 Thread Bob White via gnucash-user

I got new USAA OFX download working with GNC 4.4.1.

It's mainly a configuration task.

-- User config --
int uniqueId=""
char backendName="aqofxconnect"
char userName=""
char userId=""
char customerId=""
char country="us"
char bankCode="314074269"
int lastSessionId="0"

data {
  backend {
    char bankName="USAA Federal Savings Bank"
    char org="USAA Federal Savings Bank"
    char fid="67811"
    char
serverAddr="https%3A%2F%2Fdf3cx-services.1fsapi.com%2Fcasm%2Fusaa%2Faccess.ofx"
    char appId="QMOFX"
    char appVer="2300"
    char headerVer="103"
    char clientUid=""
    int httpVMajor="0"
    int httpVMinor="0"
    char httpUserAgent="InetClntApp%2F3.0"
  } #backend
} #data
-

Notes:
-- 'httpUserAgent' is currently not configurable through GNC v4.4.1, but it
works when included in the file.  It has been added in newer AqBanking, look

trial and cancel within 30 days no charge.
-- 'your new USAA access id' can be found at https://www.usaa.com/accessid

You will need to disconnect accounts from within the AqBanking Wizard, download
accounts with new user configuration, then reconnect accounts.  In my case, the
new credit card account numbers in the accounts list are not a 100% match to
the number found on your credit card.  There were enough common digits to know
which was which, just be aware.  I was able to successfully download and update
2 checking accounts, a savings account, and a credit card account.

I hope this helps.

Bob

PS.  I did clone the AqBanking repo and build and install the latest libraries

A user on gnucash-devel has worked out what USAA changed and even better how to
get connections working, see

If that's gibberish you'll need to be patient for a while until Martin can get

[GNC] USAA aqbanking stopped working

2021-02-07 Thread Daffy Duck
Hello,

I have been using multiple USAA accounts for years, and it seems they
stopped working just recently through gnucash.

gnucash-4.4-1.fc33.x86_64
aqbanking-6.1.4-2.fc33.x86_64

Now, no matter what I do, I get no results for transactions.

First, it seems to force all of my USAA accounts to use the wrong user.
So I updated that user, since I don't use it, to the USAA user.  Same
problem.

When I go to aqbanking wizard, and do retrieve account list, I just
get:

22:26:06 Sending request...
22:26:06 Using GnuTLS default ciphers.
22:26:06 TLS: SSL-Ciphers negotiated: TLS1.3:ECDHE-RSA-AES-256-GCM:AEAD
22:26:06 Waiting for response...
22:26:07 Parsing response...
22:26:07 Operation finished, you can now close this window.

When I try to get transactions for any usaa account, it says:

Locking customer "7"
Sending request...
Connecting to server...
Resolving hostname "service2.usaa.com" ...
IP address is "23.199.3.79"
Connecting to "service2.usaa.com"
Connected to "service2.usaa.com"
Using GnuTLS default ciphers.
TLS: SSL-Ciphers negotiated: TLS1.3:ECDHE-RSA-AES-256-GCM:AEAD
Connected.
Sending message...
Message sent.
Waiting for response...
Receiving response...
HTTP-Status: 200 (OK)
Response received.
Disconnecting from server...
Disconnected.
Parsing response...
Unlocking customer "7"

---

any ideas?

Bob White already posted a sanitized OFX log file yesterday morning. The
response from USAA is a fancy web page saying "Server Error" with no details

Re: [GNC] USAA FSB requires newer QWIN support

2021-01-29 Thread David Reiser via gnucash-user
There’s a note on Quicken’s pages that some USAA customers need to get a new ID
and PIN for transaction downloads (different from the rest of the USAA web page
credentials). I didn’t see any definitive info on who or why.

The next step would be to look at the ofx log file — something you have to turn
on in Gnucash via environment variables. Directions are somewhere on the wiki.

The ofx log will tell you if your login was declined. Sometimes, you even get
an ofx error as partial indication of why.

Re: [GNC] USAA FSB requires newer QWIN support

2021-01-29 Thread Jon Schewe
Some additional data points. I was using appVer 2200 and got no
transactions. I edited the aqbanking config file and changed the appVer
to 2700, still no transactions. I changed the headerVer to 103, still
no transactions. I tried adding a clientUid and that didn't help
either.

However I do not see any errors in the log window.

According to the log I'm using AqBanking v6.2.1.0stable.

Ok, so I got the starter version of Quicken for Mac (30-day free trial) and the
setup had me create a new user id and access code with USAA.

Looking at OFX log files after setup I get new APPID, APPVER and CLIENTUID:

I don’t know how important case or hyphens/lack of hyphens is.

There’s a box in the aqbanking setup to enter a clientUid.

You can if you want to edit the aqbanking settings files (text). But it’s
easier to edit user information in the wizard. Just enter the new/changed info

Re: [GNC] USAA FSB requires newer QWIN support

2021-01-28 Thread Jon Schewe
I see that I have this issue as well.

Is it possible to change the setup without running the online banking
wizard?

The last time I set this up I updated the wiki at
https://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/OFX_Direct_Connect_Bank_Settings#USAA and
noted the the client ID should be empty.

Re: [GNC] USAA FSB requires newer QWIN support

2021-01-28 Thread David Reiser via gnucash-user
unix systems will generate a clientUid with the terminal command: uuidgen
I make it all lower case and remove the hyphens by using the command in the
form "uuidgen | awk '{print tolower($0)}' | tr -d -"
I don’t know how important case or hyphens/lack of hyphens is.

There’s a box in the aqbanking setup to enter a clientUid.

Thanks, Dave.

Updating to 2700 alone did not work.

Do I need to go through actual Quicken software to generate the clientUid?

The first thing to try is setting the appVer to 2700 (nine years newer than
1800).

If that doesn’t work on its own, try setting headerVer to 103 and creating a
clientUid

[GNC] USAA FSB requires newer QWIN support

2021-01-28 Thread Bob White via gnucash-user

As of 27 Jan 2021 USAA has deprecated aqbanking QWIN v1800 support.  Can
connect, but transactions are no longer downloaded.

I confirmed with USAA.  I am trying to get details on newer requirements from
USAA but it is difficult--they will only troubleshoot with the actual Quicken
app, which I do not have.

Waiting on a callback from USAA.

Has anyone else experienced these issues or know of a resolution?

Thanks,

Bob

Re: [GNC] USAA accounts no longer receive balance or transactions

2019-09-07 Thread John Ralls
Works fine on a Mac, GnuCash 3.6, aqbanking 5.7.8: Just tested on both the
aforementioned credit card and on a bank account. Might be a Fedora problem:
The -2 and -3 on the aqbanking versions means that the Fedora Packager has
patched AQBanking.

Re: [GNC] USAA accounts no longer receive balance or transactions

2019-09-07 Thread D Ducky
Ok,

I just confirmed that it's something with gnucash or aqbanking:

On another machine, with duplicate books and configurations, with gnucash:

gnucash-3.4-1.fc29.x86_64

aqbanking-5.7.8-2.fc29.x86_64

it works fine, for balance and transactions

however on

gnucash-3.6-1.fc30.x86_64

aqbanking-5.7.8-3.fc30.x86_64

---

No balance, no transactions for USAA accounts.

Maybe a glitch at usaa.com? I had no trouble getting my credit card
 transactions from there on Tuesday.

Do note that you need to adjust the dates when you retry a download.
AQBanking defaults to starting at the time of the last download attempt,
 successful or not.

Thanks for the response. I tried adjusting the dates, to no avail.

Do you have the certificate prompt each time?

Thank you,

Maybe a glitch at usaa.com? I had no trouble getting my credit card
transactions from there on Tuesday.

Do note that you need to adjust the dates when you retry a download. AQBanking
defaults to starting at the time of the last download attempt, successful or
not.

[GNC] USAA accounts no longer receive balance or transactions

2019-09-07 Thread DaCappie
Hello,

Starting about a week or so ago, after around 8 or so years using USAA
accounts with Gnucash, I cannot get transactions or balance. It says no
transactions available, and it does nothing when I ask for balance. It does
this for ALL USAA accounts(checking, savings, credit, etc).

It still works fine for Chase credit card, etc.

I've always gotten the certificate prompt, but even when I click yes to
accept, it shows nothing.

Here's the output from transaction request:

It says no transactions during that time.

As said, it worked for years. What happened?
