I am uncomfortable with all the heat rash. Still I enjoyed my stay albeit without Stella - Castle beer and Fosters are rather nice too. Things to do for expats in Goa. Get a couple of hair cuts one when you arrive and one just before you leave. Cost Rupees 20 plus Rs10 tip. Buy all your medicines in Goa. Eat well at all the good restaurants. I had a double crown bridge - cost me RS2000. It would have cost me 10 times as much in London. Buy all the joss sticks you want - really cheap. Buy locally made papads.yummy. Buy bebinca from Longinhos 1 kg for Rs130. Get mum to make her famous recipe Dodol. Jerome and Anastasia's invite to SFX function was appreciated - thank you. SFX body it seems to me is deteriorating. I distinctly remember a tuft of hair on one side in 1974 - now all gone. 1984 and now 2004. Maybe time to shelve expositions (my opinion). Buy malaria tablets in Goa - a whole lot cheaper. Remember to start taking at least two days before the trip and five days after the trip. Unfortunately E+L have to leave on Dec 19. Silviano Barbosa is threatening to release a book shortly, and has commissioned me (surely a bad choice) to scout around for a chief guest. Prof Mascarenhas is down from Tanzania, in Quepem, but would be leaving soon. Christine Pinto is coming from Down Under, and I'm her postbox for awhile. _VM_ was motivated enough to shift down to Goa -- bag, baggage and family -- so we have him kind of captive here. Then there are all our home-grown, based-in-Goa Goanetters, starting with old faithful Tony Correia Afonso. We do hope that both Aires Rodrigues and Maria Rodrigues will show up too ;-) Cecil, Miguel... anyone within 40,000 kms distance of Goa. Have I missed out anyone on the list? Vivian(a) is coming in Jan; and so is a surprise guest whom I'm not allowed to spill the beans on. If you're coming down to Goa, and want five seconds of instant fame, just email me your details. FN
