I understand there were a couple of transporters
(possibly Skymasters) on the apron when the
bombardment commenced.

Also, I gather that the last flight of the TAIP was on
18th evening, piloted by Capt. Solano de Almeida,
ferrying the last of the wives of the military
personnel to Karachi (flying below radar level), as
recounted by a parachutist nurse. This fact (of a
plane leaving from the damaged airfield) is mentioned
on the Bharat-Rakshak site. This means that there was
still one transporter left on the tarmac. Could this
be the plane that was comandeered by Mario? Besides
this Skymaster, I have been told that there was a
partly dismantled Viking undergoing maintenance in the
hangars.

I wonder what was the fate of the other equipment,
like the appropriate towing vehicles - nowadays one
sees the ugly Ford tractors doing the towing jobs...

Gabriel.

Sachin,
I said he comandeered, not piloted.
And the craft was piloted very expertly, bellow radar, and so on.
It is quite a story. Try to get it out of the horse's mouth.

I was intrigued by the following sentence in Alfred de Tavares' post: But
about flights' details apply to Mario Cabral e Sa: he comandeered one of
the Skymasters, a little while after the Dec 19 action, fleeing Goa, via
K., cracked screen, etc.

Mario seems to be a person of many talents. Besides writing books and
articles, he is also a pilot.

Would be interested to know why Mario decided to flee Goa, and why did he
return. Given the above prank, I would have thought that returning would
be a trifle difficult.

Sachin Phadte.

Mário´s great escape is some kind of declassifed
information from the CIA? Did he return because he
missed the piggy toilets in Divar?
