I happen to visit a few Goan old websites after very long time. One website has my name running in the BLOGS section ticker. I haven't written or send my articles which are published on the Herald to the website for a long time. Another website has a name eidtor, someone who became famous for a legal fight over divorce which, I assume, is still going on. Now the website has a question-answer column. The questions are answered by an unknown attorney. The website former owner/editor is now important member of a political party, which proudly proclaims itself as pro-Goan, and is perhaps so, but unfortunately is hovering on the fringe of the political landscape since its launch about 14 years Another website was carrying good articles by a seasoned journalist, and often broadcast its list of articles on this forum, has not made any noise. I haven't visited the website, taking for greanted that's its virtually dead. Its a good sorpotel of websites on the Internet. Eugene Correia

It can generate some revenue to the club too. It is also observed that number of cameramen were lot more than the last years, includes ladies too. Infact, with the modern Cell phones or smartphones, almost everyone is now a photographer. Also, Organisers should try to stick to their announced time schedule. Think about the people who come from far and wide, wait at the ferry wharf need also to be considered. It was to start at 3.30pm but saw floats coming in bits after 4pm which will then assemble on site so as to get ready by 5pm. People or visitors to blame too, there was no one at 3.30pm except large number of police force. Perhaps, they know from their past experience that the floats never started before 4.45pm In between the floats, there was a 15 minute 'technical' break. Don't remember seeing Minister Dilip Parulekar and local MLA Madkaikar. They may have come later. Goa daily says Congress chief sacked, party says 'paid news' Panaji: The Goa unit of the Congress Sunday accused a local English daily of indulging in paid news, and said a front page story on the sacking of state party president John Fernandes was totally baseless. A statement issued by the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) asked the media and people at large to ignore the news report which the party said was planted by some anti-party activists. Kindly ignore the paid news which has appeared as a headline in one of the English local dailies with regards to sacking of Pradesh Congress Committee president (John Fernandes). The news is totally baseless. We would be initiating legal action against this reporter of the daily, the statement said. The exclusive story published across five columns claimed Fernandes was sacked by Congress president Sonia Gandhi late Saturday and that Congress Working Committee (CWC) member Luizinho Faleiro, a former chief minister, replaced him.
