[Goanet] AIFF MEDIA ADVISORY FOR INDIAN AND IRAN NATIONAL TEAM IN BENGALURU ON SEPTEMBER 6, 2015.

2015-09-06 Thread AIFF Reports
Dear colleagues,

Please find the Media Advisory of Indian National Team and Iran National
Team in Bengaluru on September 6, 2015 (Sunday):

*INDIAN NATIONAL TEAM:*

*September 6, 2015:*

Practice at Sree Kanteerava Stadium from 6.30pm.

Journalists can watch the practice session from the stands while
Photographers and Videographers (from News Channels) would be allowed to
shoot from behind the goal lines.

The first 15 minutes would be open for the Media.

Furthermore, Mr. Eugenson Lyngdoh, Midfielder, Indian National Team will be
available for a Media Interaction at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium at 6pm
prior to India’s practice session. May we humbly mention that it won’t be
possible for Mr. Lyngdoh to give any one-on-one interviews (even for TV
News channels).

Mr. Lyngdoh will be speaking solely in relation to the India’s preparation
and the forthcoming match against Iran. Interested media persons are
requested to be at the venue on time for the same.

For any clarification, please feel free to be in touch with Media Manager
Nilanjan Datta at +91-9873185150.

*IRAN NATIONAL TEAM:*

*September 6, 2015:*

The Iran National Team is expected to land in Bengaluru around 11am
tomorrow (Sunday, September 6, 2015) and will proceed to ITC Fortune Hotel
where they would be based during their stay in Bengaluru.

The practice session for Iran National Team is slated from 5pm to 6.30pm.
Though we have no intimation at the moment, it’s understandable that the
practice *may* be open for the Media for the first 15 minutes.

In that case, Journalists can watch the practice session from the stands
while Photographers and Videographers (from News Channels) would be allowed
to shoot from behind the goal lines and all would be asked to leave after
15 minutes.

*However, the Iran Team authorities may decide upon having a closed practi**ce
session on the day and in that case, no Media would be allowed to either
have a look/shoot/or film their training session.*

Former Indian National Team Player Mr. Mastan Ahmed, the local Manager for
the Iran National Team in Bengaluru is available on +91-9845243896.

*May we also duly mention that the Accreditation process for the match
closed on June 1, 2015 and we are not in a position to issue any new Media
Accreditations.*

[Goanet] Teach them Young

2015-09-06 Thread Dr . Ferdinando dos Reis Falcão

It is a
good move that the government has decided to teach Traffic Regulations and
Safety in Schools and Colleges. But will just that suffice? We need to groom
children from young in other virtues that will aid them in understanding the
necessity of respecting Traffic Regulations and Safety. We need to teach
children
first personal, home and environment HYGIENE. Then Manners, etiquettes, respect
and humility. That will groom children to respect Laws, Rules, and rights of
other citizens. Only then they will realise that Laws are there to live as
civilized
citizens; unlike the arrogance and rage we see everywhere nowadays. It has
rightly been said: "If you are planning for a year, sow rice; if you are
planning for a decade, plant trees; if you are planning for a lifetime, educate
people."

This all looks good on paper. But do we have teachers that
will also teach through example?

Dr. Ferdinando dos Reis Falcão

[Goanet] GFDO PRESS NOTE

2015-09-06 Thread Edwin/Diana Pinto
GFDO PRESS NOTE

For the past few years, Goans for Dabolim Only has been consistently pointing
out that the Mopa Airport project is economically unviable, and is in fact a
real estate scam. GFDO’s claim has now been substantiated with the recent
reports which state that 8 brand new airports which were proposed in 2009
alongside Mopa and constructed in some of the country’s tourist hubs, have not
seen any aviation activity because of less than projected demand. Indeed 50% of
India’s airports remained unused throughout the year. Prime Minister Modi
himself, in tacit acknowledgment of the fact that the PPP model for airports in
India has proved to be unviable and economically unfeasible, has reversed the
government decision to privatise Chennai, Kolkata, Jaipur and Ahmedabad
Airports. Even neighbouring Sri Lanka has paid a heavy price for constructing a
second airport. Just like Mopa Green Field, The Mattala Rajapaksa International
Airport was constructed with the promise that it would increase tourism and
create jobs, even though Sri Lanka already had a perfect airport in Colombo.
This was done on heavy borrowings of hundreds of millions of dollars, Today,
Sri Lankan officials have announced plans to use this airport, built merely to
feed the vanity of toppled Sri Lankan ‘strongman’ Rajapakse, as a rice storage
warehouse in an attempt to reduce losses after it has failed to take off.

Goans understand that the Mopa Airport project is Mr. Parsekar’s dream. After
all, on April 18th, 2006, Mandrem BJP MLA Laxmikant Parsekar, as a leader of
the pro Mopa Airport lobby, enforced a bandh by blocking the Siolim-Chopdem
bridge, without even making any effort to understand the dynamics, feasibility,
environmental impact and sustainability of the project. But is it right that
Goa should suffer the same fate as Sri Lanka just to pander to the vanity and
hard headedness of the Mandrem MLA who is now Goa’s Chief Minister?

It is unfortunate that all projects, whether it is marinas, Golf course or the
Aeroshow venue are being steamrollered through without any thought to the
adverse environmental and social impact they will have on Goa. In the case of
the Mopa Airport project, every Goan knows that it is being pushed forward by
the government primarily because politicians and crony capitalists have boughts
huge tracts of land, which they hope to sell for a windfall once the airport is
complete But the money and the land, including the 15 lakh square metres that
the Government is so recklessly offering to the Airport developer for real
estate purposes at a mindboggling 4 FAR, are resources belonging to the
community of Goans and certainly cannot be squandered to pander to the vested
interests of a privileged few.

The BJP government’s faulty and short sighted policies have led Goa to the
brink of bankruptcy. This government is operating by taking more loans only to
pay off old loans and its fiscal profligacy has succeeded in bringing about a
debt of Rs.93,000 on the head of each Goan. In such circumstances, how can it
even think of building unnecessary and unviable infrastructure on the false
promises of jobs and business growth!
CM Parsekar appears to be trying to replicate PM Modi’s much hyped and now
exposed Gujarat model of development, which promotes jobless growth, for the
benefit of a few selected crony capitalists, thanks to which Gujarat is now
aflame in protest.

CM Parsekar should learn from the mistakes of others and understand that Goans
will not allow Goa to go the Gujarat way.

US is the king of corn growing, which is used for all purposes including bio
fuel. Now since 1961 this illegal occupation of Goa by the bharats has led to
the destruction of agricultural land in the name of development. Since the
embargo on Goa in the 50's the Portuguese made it a point to concentrate on
agriculture development and we were self sufficient. The imposition of this

If United States of America is the world's super power today, it is not
because of it's military might. It is because of its AGRICULTURE.
Goa was fortunate to have a Havard educated agriculturists as its 7 time CM

self relient in most of the vegetables/fruits and rice which it depends on
the supply from the outside. This can be done if GOA'S COMUNIDADES are

of Goa.  Also, Goa needs a full-fledged Agriculture College.  GSRP has
vowed to do this in its ROAD MAP FOR GOA - available to download at
