Colin, do not be fooled. History and facts are important and matter.  World Goa 
Day was initiated and started by Goa Sudharop. The idea was proposed by 
Filomena Giese, co-Founder of Goa Sudharop. Goa Sudharop paid for the initial 
set-up (website design, logo, domain, etc,) as one of Goa Sudharop's projects. 
I had initially suggested Jan 1 as the date - a new year, a new beginning for 
Goans. The late Jorge Noronha (Portugal) suggested August 20 to coincide with 
Konkani being made the official language of Goa (1992). Goa Sudharop heavily 
promoted the idea of WGD. Rene was a Goa Sudharop advisor at that time but with 
a failure of character Rene brought the publicity to himself and has never 
acknowledged or corrected the record and promoted WGD as his own, never 
contributing a single penny (I hear this is still the case). I personally 
drafted many of the publicity emails Rene sent out, including articles for WGD. 
 For the record, Goa Sudharop did the initial work to launch WGD and I 
personally spent a lot more time than Rene to get WGD off the ground.

So why has no credit has been given to Goa Sudharop? This is typical of some 
Goans who talk a good game about co-operation, unity but take all the credit.  
Then they ask why Goans are backward compared to other communities and Goans 
cannot move forward in unity,

[Goanet] TIME TO RID GOA FROM THESE MOUNTING POLITICAL PIMPS AND PROSTITUTES

We can only pitifully mourn the sad political state that Ritesh and Roy
Naik find themselves in after now embracing the BJP for reasons best known
to themselves and their new political masters.

I have personally never met Roy but having met Ritesh, I can with all
responsibility vouch that he has been a very decent soul. To go to the
extent of allowing the BJP to even discredit their real identities and be
used as Puppets on a string defies logic and credibility. What a waste of
young talent and an insult to common decency and the rule of law.

That these two brothers have landed into a deadly BJP trap is another
issue. The writing on the wall is all too clear and having recklessly dug a
grave for their political future they must sadly lie in it unless of course
they see the light and change the course.

Where the BJP is concerned the only post and position that it may be able
to offer Roy Ravi Naik is as Convenor of the Narcotic Corporation of the
BJP in Goa. Needless to say that Yaniv Benaim alias Atala would have to be
the Managing Director of that Corporation to ensure the free flow of that
very lucrative Drug trade.

Ritesh and Roy have voluntarily succumbed under the weight of a file and
now find themselves buried under Goa’s ongoing sleazy political rubble.
That their veteran political dad Ravi Sitaram Naik could not visualize all
this and rescue his two sons from this political blackmail and suicide will
be a matter of political debate for a long time to come.

The sooner common decency, the truth and integrity returns to politics the
better. Good Governance in a democracy and respect for the people and rule
of law is mandatory. Otherwise how many more people will be used and abused
by political sharks as puppets, pawns or political footballs for their
mutual gratification?
