[Goanet] Murder In The House - Who's Next?
Is soaring summer heat the cause for murder in the house? I wish it were true but more than the temperature numbers going up it has more to do with greed for money, power and prestige rather than honesty, sincerity and hard work! Goa is going I am not sure where but for sure the Goan as we knew him or her is gone! A case of an adopted son along with his girlfriend killing the mother is gruesome. The other case within a span of a couple of weeks is a daughter's killing of her father. Alarming signals of tomorrow's Goa news? Where will it go from here? Goa's development is not consistent with the development of our hearts which have undergone shrinkage. A lot of these people visit temples, churches and mosques and are religious or so we are told. Does their God applaud when they kill? Or is God simply the joker in the pack? Do all seek a quick ride to the top in search of money, fame and fortune or do we also have vampires in the hunt? For me, only the taste of blood? That's good enough? Who's next?

Would be a good thing is all new legislators are required to have an orientation with Aires on ethics and law before they start their term. [Goanet] OUR MLAs WILL HAVE TO BE FINE LEGISLATORS
For most of the 40, getting elected at the Assembly elections held on Valentine’s Day was a hell of a job. But the bigger task at hand now will be for these MLA’s to successfully perform as Legislators to the satisfaction of their constituents. In a democracy the role of the Opposition is even more crucial as it is their responsibility to ensure that there are no excesses or abuse of authority whatsoever by those in Power. This Assembly has 19 first time MLAs who will have to put in an extra amount of effort to perform and deliver what was promised to their constituents. Some of these have excelled enormously in their own fields and all that experience would definitely be of help while they embark in this new avatar. Of the remaining 21 who have all been earlier MLAs, many to their credit have performed well, and all that legislative experience will make things much easier, giving them time to assist nurturing legislative skills in their first time MLA colleagues. I have never had the occasion to interact or even meet with 13 of the 40 new MLAs whose performance it would be interesting to observe as they are all first timers.
