Welcome to another year of fun with the GOA!

This year the GOA completes 50 years since it was originally formed in
1970. Congratulations GOA on your Golden Jubilee!!

The GOA committee encourages all of you to come and support us and help us
to make this year a special and memorable one.

Our committee has a number  of events planned for you this year.  More
details on each event will be sent to you before the event*. *

Below are details of some of the events for which we have finalized the
dates, and wanted to send it out so that you can save the dates. We will be
adding on more events and provide details as soon as they are finalized.

Dear All,
Please see the updated message regarding the funeral for Arthur Shenoi.

Dear Family and Friends,

As many of you know, *Arthur D’Silva Shenoi, *beloved father, husband,
grandfather, uncle and dear friend passed away on Friday, December 27,
2019, at the age of 93, and has returned home to his heavenly Father.

We are filled with sorrow to lose Arthur. He led a wondrous exemplary life,
devoted to God, his family and everyone he met. We want to celebrate his
life with his dear family and friends.

Noel, Allan, Peter, and Ranee, their spouses: Debbie, Lalita, Evelyn,
Norse, and nine grandchildren: Andrew, Erica, Sonia, Anita, Tommy, Lauren,
Alexa, Christina, and Eric join together to invite you to bid farewell to
Arthur to pray for his soul, and to celebrate his love and energy which he
shared with so many.

Hello All,
Please see the email below from the Shenoi family and keep them in your
prayers.







*It is with deepest sorrow that we inform you of the passing of our dearest
father Mr. Arthur Shenoi on December 27 at 6.40 am. He passed peacefully in
his sleep to meet his Maker and was welcomed with open arms by his dearly
departed wife Elyn. Arthur was 93.The funeral mass will be held at San
Francisco Solano Church at 22082 Antonio Parkway, Rancho Santa Margarita,
CA.on January 4, 2020.The viewing will begin at 9.30am, followed by the
funeral mass at 10am.The Celebration of Life lunch will follow before
proceeding to Ascension Cemetery at 24754 Trabuco Road in Lake Forest.All
are invited at attend. *

Dear All,
We have two obituary notifications.  Please see below and remember them in
your prayers.


We are sad to inform you that Thomas Sequeira, age 78 passed away in Los
Angeles, California on Sunday May 12th. Thomas is survived by his wife,
Narcy and his four children, Sharon Kurges, Jeanette Reville, Yolanda Wu
and Emma Sequeira.  Rosary will be held at Green Hills Mortuary at 27501 S.
Western Ave, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275 at 6 pm on May 31st. The funeral
Mass will be held at St. Philomena's Church at 21900 S. Main St. Carson, CA
90745 at 10.30 am on June 1, 2019.


We are sorry to let you know that Egbert Pereira lost his younger brother,
Dicky Pereira, 63 yrs, suddenly, yesterday evening, of cardiac arrest.
Egbert is leaving for Mumbai.

May their soul rest in peace.

Dear All,
We are sad to inform you that Ronnie Dalgado's mother, Alda Maria Dalgado
passed away in Bombay. The funeral mass of Alda Maria Dalgado age 86, will
be held this Saturday, May 25th at Mt. Carmel’s Church, Bandra, Bombay.
Burial is at Mt Carmel’s Seaside Cemetery followed by a reception at st
Francis d'Assissi church. She has three children, Roy Dalgado (Canada),
Arlene Pacheco (Australia) and Ronnie Dalgado (USA).
May her soul rest in peace. Our prayers are with their family.

Jude Santiago (Brother of Tony Santiago)  passed away on April 15th from

Dear All,

We are saddened to announce the passing of Jeannette Fernandes (wife of the
late Ramiro Fernandes) after a long illness on October 12, 2018.


Jeannette was a huge part of the GOA community in Los Angeles for many
years. She was a member of the committee in 1995, when Maria Mehegan was
president and they put on a gala event to celebrate the GOA 25th
Anniversary. She is survived by her children Elaine and Clinton Fernandes,
her brother Edward (in Tanzania) and her sister Annette (in Holland).



Details of her funeral services will be announced when finalized.

 Dear Friends,

It is with sadness we announce the death of Mervyn's brother Gladwyn Vaz,
who passed away peacefully at 11 pm U.K. time yesterday on February 23,
2018. Gladwyn was diagnosed with leukemia a little less than a year ago and
succumbed to the disease today. Please keep Gladwyn's mother, wife and
children in your payers as well as Lynette and Mervyn as they deal with
this huge loss.
