Arwinbab,
It is a pity that the majority of Goans being so educated are still so naive in
our perception of the world. I think the old Konkani phrase Xincon Brut truly
applies to us, otherwise, we would be able to rectify the position mainly by
ejecting the current crop of Corrupt politicians and electing people who are
reputable and trustworthy to represent us. I know that we have been harping on
this point for a long time, but to no avail. I think that the only way we will
be able to awaken these sheepish sleeping Susegade Goans is by kicking their
backsides and awakening them from this sleep soon, before all is lost.

Manuel (Eddie) Tavares.

As the World's Population crosses 7 Billion, it is evident that our planet
is finding it increasingly difficult to support our increasing population.
But the point to be made here, is that the latter is mainly due to the
exploitation of the world’s resources and destruction of its environment by
the privileged few. Just take the case of Goa, where in addition to mining
devastating the state, we have un-necessary mega housing and other
destructive projects which are destroying our environment, reducing
farmland, polluting land/water etc. But what is more unfortunate is that
this is happening with in called "EDUCATED/Literate" Goa; Goans in
general have given Goa away to the corrupt and uneducated set of
Pathetic/Destructive MLA's. Education is supposed to take the society/area
forward but in Goa, I think Goans have actually taken it backwards. If
educated/literate people can let their community/land down, what hope do we
have for the other regions on our planet where illiteracy is very high?
